You may also review the work of others and support the development of junior team members.\nKey Responsibilities\nDepending on the position and level of seniority, responsibilities may include:\nWrite, edit, research and proofread content for proposals and other pursuit-related materials.\nParticipate in proposal storyboarding and content-planning sessions.\nAdapt and tailor standard content to specific client requirements and opportunities.\nTransform complex business or technical information into clear, concise and engaging content.\nCollaborate with subject matter experts to develop and refine proposal content.\nPartner with designers and other creative professionals to develop integrated written and visual materials.\nApply editorial guidelines and writing best practices to ensure clarity, consistency and quality.\nReview content for grammar, tone, structure, consistency and alignment with proposal objectives.\nContribute to and leverage internal content repositories and reusable assets.\nParticipate in peer reviews and share writing and editing best practices across the team.\nContribute to the broader Pursuit Writing community and knowledge-sharing activities.\nAdditional Responsibilities for Senior Positions\nAt more experienced levels, responsibilities may also include:\nApply conceptual writing and storytelling techniques to large and complex sales opportunities.\nOwn the development of standard proposal sections and other key content.\nWork directly with subject matter experts to develop original, client-focused narratives.\nConduct peer reviews and provide actionable editorial feedback.\nSupport training and coaching of junior team members.\nPromote consistent writing and editorial standards across pursuit teams.\nProvide greater ownership of the writing process for complex or high-priority opportunities.\nRequired Skills / Qualifications\n2+ years of professional writing or related experience.\nNative-level English proficiency, or equivalent professional proficiency required to independently write and edit complex business content.\nDemonstrated professional experience in writing, editing, proofreading and content development.\nStrong command of business writing and professional language.\nFamiliarity with professional editorial guidelines and writing standards.\nAbility to research unfamiliar topics and translate findings into clear, audience-focused content.\nAbility to collaborate with subject matter experts, designers and other cross-functional stakeholders.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.\nAbility to independently manage writing assignments in a virtual working environment.\nAbility to review information and make content and editorial decisions based on audience, context and communication objectives.\nExperience by Level\nPursuit / Proposal Writer\nTypically 2+ years of professional writing or related experience.\nAt this level, candidates should demonstrate experience in areas such as:\nWriting, editing and proofreading professional content.\nAdapting existing content for different audiences or requirements.\nApplying materials.\nSupporting proposal storyboarding and content development activities.\nSenior Pursuit / Proposal Writer\nTypically 4+ years of professional writing or related experience.\nAt this level, candidates should additionally demonstrate:\nExperience developing original content for complex business requirements.\nExperience using conceptual writing and storytelling techniques.\nAbility to own proposal sections or significant content deliverables.\nExperience partnering directly with subject matter experts to develop and refine content.\nExperience conducting peer reviews and providing editorial feedback.\nAbility to support the training or coaching of less-experienced writers.\nGreater autonomy in managing writing assignments for large or complex opportunities.\nPreferred Skills / Qualifications\nProfessional writing experience related to technology, IT services or technical topics.\nPrevious experience with sales proposals, RFP responses, bids or other business development content.\nExperience translating complex technical or business concepts for non-technical audiences.\nExperience working with geographically distributed or virtual teams.\nExperience using generative AI platforms to research, develop or locate content.\nExperience developing prompts that enable generative AI tools to produce relevant, tailored and high-quality business content.\nExperience
