In this role, you will help engineer and evolve secure, resilient and scalable OpenShift platforms that underpin critical enterprise workloads.\nResponsibilities:\nAs a Red Hat OpenShift Platform Associate Manager, you will be responsible for engineering, evolving and supporting enterprise-grade OpenShift Container Platform environments. You will work across platform build, automation, lifecycle management, security, reliability and operational readiness, helping to provide a secure and resilient container platform for critical workloads.\nYour day-to-day activities will include hands-on platform engineering, troubleshooting and automation, working with architects, infrastructure teams, application teams and operations to deliver consistent platform services. You will contribute technical expertise to platform design decisions, lead complex engineering activities within your area, and help establish standards and reusable patterns for OpenShift adoption.\nKey Responsibilities Include:\nDesign, build, configure and continuously improve Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments across enterprise on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.\nOwn and execute OpenShift platform lifecycle activities including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, capacity management and cluster health management.\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and platform automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, with a focus on repeatability, standardisation and reduced manual effort.\nImplement and support GitOps-based platform and application deployment patterns using technologies such as Argo CD and enterprise CI/CD tooling.\nEngineer secure platform capabilities including RBAC, network policies, secrets and certificate management, image security, policy enforcement and integration with enterprise identity and security services.\nSupport and optimise core OpenShift services and ecosystem components such as cluster networking, storage, registries, ingress, operators and service mesh.\nApply Site Reliability Engineering principles to improve availability, resilience, observability, performance and operational supportability of the platform.\nImplement and enhance monitoring, logging and alerting, and use platform telemetry to identify risks, bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.\nLead diagnosis and resolution of complex platform incidents and recurring problems, including root-cause analysis and implementation of preventative actions.\nWork closely with Red Hat and other technology vendors where required to resolve product issues and support platform roadmap decisions.\nProduce and maintain technical documentation, engineering standards, operational runbooks and reusable platform patterns.\nProvide technical guidance to engineers and delivery teams adopting OpenShift, sharing knowledge and promoting strong cloud-native, DevSecOps and platform engineering practices.\nSkills & Experience:\nStrong hands-on experience engineering and operating Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform in production enterprise environments.\nDeep understanding of Kubernetes administration and container platform concepts, including scheduling, networking, storage, security, operators and cluster lifecycle management.\nStrong Linux / Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting capability.\nHands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation, particularly Terraform and Ansible.\nPractical experience implementing GitOps and CI/CD approaches for platform engineering, with tools such as Argo CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Tekton or Azure DevOps.\nStrong understanding of platform security, including RBAC, network segmentation, certificate management, secrets, vulnerability management and secure container supply chains.\nExperience with observability and operational tooling for container platforms, including monitoring, logging, alerting and performance analysis.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across the OpenShift stack, with the ability to diagnose complex issues spanning platform, network, storage, security and application integration.\nExperience working within large enterprise environments where availability, resilience, auditability and controlled change are important.\nStrong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and work effectively across engineering, architecture and operations teams.\nPreferred Experience:\nExperience deploying or operating OpenShift on bare-metal or virtualised on-premises infrastructure.\nExperience with Red Hat platform technologies such as Advanced Cluster Management (RHACM), Advanced Cluster Security (RHACS), OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), Quay, Service Mesh, Keycloak or Satellite.\nExperience supporting highly available, multi-cluster or disaster-recovery OpenShift architectures.\nExposure to public cloud and hybrid platform services, particularly Azure and/or AWS.\nExperience in financial services, critical national infrastructure or another highly regulated environment.\nExperience coaching other engineers, leading technical workstreams or acting as a subject matter expert within a platform engineering team.\nPreferred Certifications:\nRed Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.\nRed Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or relevant Red Hat automation certification.\nCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).\nHashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate or equivalent infrastructure automation
