This role involves assessing homes for energy conservation opportunities, educating participants, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. Upon completion of required training, certifications, and a minimum of 2 weeks training post certification, the technician may advance to Weatherization Technician II.\nAbout ACCESS\nACCESS is an energetic, diverse, and compassionate team that creates positive change in the community every day. If you are dedicated, hardworking and have a passion for helping others, ACCESS is the place for you!\nPosition Duties & Responsibilities\nConduct home inspections and audits to identify energy efficiency improvements and safety concerns.\nEducate participants on weatherization measures and energy conservation practices.\nAnswer phone calls, respond to inquiries, verify eligibility, prepare documentation, and schedule appointments in a timely manner and maintain accurate records.\nInstall conservation kit items, when appropriate, and assist in development and coordination of energy education sessions.\nUtilize diagnostic tools (blower door, duct blaster, monoxer, etc) and computerized audit software to model homes and generate work orders.\nEnsure compliance with all technical standards, program specifications, and regulatory requirements.\nCompile data for weatherization and energy education files accurately and in a timely manner and issue work orders to contractors dependent on the audit and inspections.\nComplete required courses to attain required certifications (BPI, REA, Quality Control Inspector) within 2 years, or as designated by ACCESS.\nPosition Requirements\nBelief in ACCESS’ mission to help provide food, warmth, and shelter.\nMinimum 2 years of experience in administrative, customer service or related field.\nRequires a work issued cell phone.\nAbility to meet certification requirements for Weatherization Audit Tools and BPI credentials (training provided).\nStrong math, computer, and organizational skills: proficiency in software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and web-based applications.\nAbility to lift 25 pounds regularly and work in varied physical conditions (stooping, bending, confined spaces).\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively with customers and co-workers, sustain participant and interdepartmental confidentiality.\nAbility and flexibility to travel as needed for training and other work-related purposes.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.\nAble to maintain sustained concentration with attention to detail.\nA valid Oregon driver’s license with an acceptable record under ACCESS’ insurance Policies.\nPosition Preferences\nBilingual in English and Spanish\nEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement\n“ACCESS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
