The role involves handling L2/L3 network incidents, performing root-cause analysis, coordinating with internal teams and vendors, and ensuring network availability, performance, and security.\n\nKey Responsibilities :\n\n- Provide L2 network operations and technical support for enterprise network infrastructure.\n\n- Monitor network devices, links, and services to identify and resolve incidents proactively.\n\n- Troubleshoot network issues related to LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VPN, and connectivity.\n\n- Configure and troubleshoot network devices including Cisco/Juniper switches and routers.\n\n- Perform incident, problem, and change management in accordance with defined ITIL processes.\n\n- Analyze network alerts, logs, and performance metrics to identify recurring issues.\n\n- Perform configuration changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities as per approved change procedures.\n\n- Troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.\n\n- Troubleshoot switching technologies including VLANs, STP/RSTP, trunking, EtherChannel, and port-security.\n\n- Support WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VPN connectivity as required.\n\n- Coordinate with L1 teams, L3/network architecture teams, security teams, application teams, and external vendors for issue resolution.\n\n- Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) for major and recurring network incidents.\n\n- Maintain network documentation, configuration records, incident reports, and operational procedures.\n\n- Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.\n\n- Ensure compliance with network security, operational, and change-management standards.\n\n- Provide on-call or shift support based on business requirements.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience :\n\n- 6 to 11 years of experience in Network Operations / Network Administration / Network Engineering.\n\n- Strong hands-on experience in L2 network troubleshooting and operations.\n\n- Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP, ICMP, and subnetting.\n\n- Strong experience with LAN/WAN, routing, and switching.\n\n- Hands-on experience with Cisco or Juniper routers and switches.\n\n- Good knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.\n\n- Strong understanding of VLAN, STP/RSTP, trunking, EtherChannel, and Layer 2 switching.\n\n- Experience with VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, or enterprise WAN technologies.\n\n- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.\n\n- Good understanding of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management.\n\n- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.\n\n- Good written and verbal communication skills.\n\nGood to Have :\n\n- CCNA / CCNP or equivalent networking certification.\n\n- Experience with Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or other firewall technologies.\n\n- Exposure to cloud networking on AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n\n- Experience with network automation or scripting using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.\n\n- Knowledge of network security concepts and enterprise security practices.\n\nEducation :\n\n- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.\n\nShift & Support :\n\n- Willingness to work in 24x7 / rotational shifts and provide on-call support, depending on operational requirements.\nSkills\nIP Networking, Network Operations Center, Network Infrastructure, Network Support, WLAN, Routing & Switching, Network Protocols, Network Administration, Juniper, Cisco, CCNA","description_format":"text","description_chars":3567,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":6,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Health Care","Professional Services","Document Management"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T22:00:00Z"}],"liveness":{"score":42,"band":"fade","label":"Fading","p_open":0.85,"p_active":0.666,"p_room":0.75,"age_days":23,"expected_fill_days":24,"reasons":["seen:23","velocity","win:late"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/access-information-management-l2-network-operations-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/access-information-management-l2-network-operations-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T12:25:41Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3811,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":1189,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
