This role oversees civil construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely and in accordance with engineering designs, quality standards, contract requirements, and regulatory requirements. The Civil Construction Engineer II serves as a civil construction subject matter expert and works closely with contractors, engineering teams, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and turnover to operations.Job Description\nKey Responsibilities:\nOversee contractor and subcontractor civil construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, ACCIONA QA/QC requirements, contract requirements, applicable codes, and good construction practices.\nServe as a subject matter expert for civil construction activities, supporting contractor coordination, engineering reviews, and resolution of design, technical, and constructability issues.\nSupport the management of civil engineering contractors, including defining requirements and specifications, reviewing engineering drawings, and managing RFIs.\nMonitor contractor progress against the project schedule, identify potential schedule impacts, and communicate recovery recommendations to project management.\nParticipate in daily, weekly, and monthly project meetings while maintaining accurate meeting minutes, logs, and project records.\nCreate, process, and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, drawings, job books, inspection records, turnover documentation, and other quality records.\nLead project quality activities, including managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and timely closure of quality issues.\nSupport facility tie-ins, start-up, testing, turnover to operations, and final project demobilization, documentation, and closeout activities.\nMonitor safety and environmental compliance and support BUILD SAFE implementation, ensuring personnel and subcontractors meet applicable federal, state, and local requirements, company policies, and training requirements.\nConduct root cause analyses, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and provide daily reporting, KPI reporting, and other project information to internal and external stakeholders.\nAssist with the training and support of new Construction Engineers.\nOther responsibilities as assigned.\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field, with 4-6 years of experience in civil engineering or construction engineering; EIT certification preferred.\nExperience in renewable energy, energy facility construction, or utility-scale power generation projects preferred.\nKnowledge of civil construction practices, engineering principles, applicable codes, contract requirements, and quality assurance/quality control standards.\nExperience with AutoCAD and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; experience with project management and scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera is a plus.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve issues in a fast-paced construction environment.\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors, including exposure to varying weather conditions, active construction sites, uneven terrain, and heavy equipment operations;
