Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.The Deputy Construction Quality Manager ensures compliance with quality standards by overseeing inspections, testing, and reporting for construction projects. This role involves interfacing with subcontractors, utility managers, and stakeholders to validate inspection results, resolve deficiencies, and implement corrective actions. The manager coordinates QC resources, reviews construction methodologies for compliance, and maintains documentation within the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS). Additionally, they play a crucial role in material approval processes, off-site quality inspections, and constructability reviews. Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and decision-making skills-including Stop Work Authority-are essential to ensure construction integrity and project success.\nJob Description\nSupport management in interfacing with subcontractors and other stakeholders on quality-related activities.\n\nEvaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and testing results.\n\nCoordinate with the Utility Manager to ensure proper testing and inspection of utilities.\n\nPlan and allocate QC resources for inspections and testing, ensuring communication with QA teams and the Authority.\n\nTrack, report, and resolve deficiencies/non-conformance issues from identification to closure.\n\nAssist in implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).\n\nProactively engage production teams to prevent deficiencies and minimize rework.\n\nOversee the approval process for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.\n\nConduct and supervise inspections and testing across various construction elements.\n\nMaintain accurate documentation of inspection results, audits, and corrective actions in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).\n\nEnsure all construction work aligns with plans, specifications, and quality requirements.\n\nPerform off-site quality inspections at supplier and manufacturer facilities.\n\nParticipate in corrective and preventive action analysis related to quality control.\n\nPrepare monthly reports consolidating all quality-related data and records.\n\nAssist in reviewing construction methodology to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications.\n\nParticipate in Punch List Walk-Throughs and jointly add items to the Punch List.\n\nMaintain and complete QC checklists for ongoing quality assurance efforts.\n\nStop Work Authority if quality standards are compromised.\n\nCoordinate constructability reviews for design changes during construction with key project stakeholders.\n\nRequired Skills and Competencies\n8-10 years of transportation infrastructure construction experience as a construction area manager, field engineer, superintendent or in a senior construction engineering and inspection role\n\nExperience as a construction quality engineer on or at least one transportation infrastructure project\n\nCollege diploma or superior\n\nStrong understanding of construction quality standards, inspections, and testing procedures.\n\nFamiliarity with project specifications, work plans, and quality assurance methodologies.\n\nAbility to evaluate testing results, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective actions.\n\nAddress non-conformance issues efficiently and improve quality processes.\n\nCollaborate effectively with engineers, subcontractors, superintendents, and management teams.\n\nMaintain detailed records and oversee documentation in EDMS.\n\nAuthority to halt construction if quality standards are not met.\n\nVerify that materials, processes, and final construction adhere to project specifications.\n\nDemonstrated experience working within Georgia's local construction market\n\nACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in US, as well as the Top Employers North America 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 seal, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
