This role sits in our New Zealand corporate office.\nAbout the Opportunity\nYou will lead concept design for tenders, shaping solutions that are constructible, cost-effective and safe. As the single point of contact for design consultants, you will manage their commercial and technical performance, flag design risks to the Bid Manager and secure approvals from clients and authorities. When bids are won, you will move into delivery and see your design through. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and lead the design team, with real influence over time, cost, safety and quality outcomes across complex projects.\nKey accountabilities for the position will be:\nLead concept design and tender design programs for each bid\nManage design consultants, including contracts, variations and performance reviews\nReview design outputs for constructability, cost, safety and tender compliance\nCoordinate design, construction and estimating teams to keep bids aligned\nControl design scope and budget, and lead value engineering\nIdentify design risks early and brief the Bid Manager and stakeholders\nSecure design approvals, then lead the design team into delivery\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nDegree in engineering, architecture or construction management\nExperience delivering complex design-and-construct projects\nProven design management in major construction or infrastructure\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and design consultants\nStrong stakeholder, communication and negotiation skills\nWhy work for us?\nAt ACCIONA, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where our employees can grow and develop their careers.
