Backed by $5.5 billion in joint government funding, the project is part of Queensland’s infrastructure pipeline ahead of Brisbane 2032 and is now in design and preconstruction.\nAbout the Opportunity:\nYou will lead environmental management on the project, reporting to the Project Director. With the project in design and preconstruction, you will shape the environmental management plan and secure the approvals that keep construction on schedule. You will guide Senior Environmental Advisors, Environmental Advisors and Coordinators, and work with the client, local authorities and the design team. You will also coach the team and report environmental performance to project leaders. You will own environmental compliance and influence how the work is delivered.\nKey accountabilities for the position will be:\nPrepare, implement and maintain the project environmental management plan\nSecure environmental approvals, licences and out of hours approvals ahead of works\nLead and coach environmental advisors and coordinators\nMonitor compliance with contractual and statutory environmental obligations\nPlan audits, inspections and monitoring across subcontractors and suppliers\nBuild strong relationships with the client and local environmental authorities\nReport on environmental performance and incidents, and drive corrective action\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nWhat capability and experience will you need to have:\nPreferred: relevant tertiary qualifications\nPreferred: operational experience applying environmental management in construction\nWorking knowledge of erosion and sediment control plans and environmental systems\nAbility to lead and mentor environmental professionals\nClear communication with clients, authorities, subcontractors and consultants\nAt ACCIONA, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where our employees can grow and develop their careers.
