This is a key role within our Operations & Maintenance department, responsible for managing the procedures, tools, systems, and resources that support reliable, compliant, and safe operations. You’ll work closely with our Regulatory Compliance team to understand the new grid code requirements and implement them. You will also track and analyze curtailment and congestion causes to mitigate their impact in our assets.Job Description\nKey Responsibilities:\nDrive operational excellence by designing and refining procedures, tools, and systems for our control center\nCollaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate grid outages, switching procedures, and ISO interactions.\nMonitor and analyze grid code requirements changes from regulatory bodies in key markets (ERCOT, PJM, MISO…) participating in the different technical committees and workshops.\nIn coordination with the Regulatory Compliance team, design the strategy and tasks to comply with those grid code requirements. Lead and supervise studies, power system analysis and modeling using PSEE, PSCAD, etc\nAnalyze power flow analysis to understand and mitigate curtailment and congestion impact in operating assets.\nEnsure full compliance with NERC, FERC, and Department of Energy standards-leading documentation, reporting, and audit readiness.\nMonitor facility performance and analyze curtailments, outages, and trends for continuous improvement.\nDevelop and support SCADA systems and communications infrastructure.\nChampion safety and training, ensuring all personnel meet technical and regulatory requirements.\nRepresent ACCIONA in industry events and act as an internal advisor on best practices.\nOther duties as assigned\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nAbout You:\nYou’re a detail-oriented operations leader with a deep understanding of system control and a strong safety-first mindset. You enjoy designing procedures, leading compliance efforts, and using data to solve real-time and long-term challenges in power operations. You’re comfortable coordinating with field teams, executives, and industry groups alike-and you’re passionate about advancing renewable energy.\nBachelor’s in electrical engineering or related field (advanced degree/P.E. a plus)\n5+ years in utility, control center, or renewable generation operations\nFamiliarity with grid operations, ISO protocols, and SCADA systems\nFamiliarity with PSEE, PSCAD and power system simulation tools\nFamiliarity with power flow studies and tools like Panorama, Mosaic or similar.\nNERC certification or ability to obtain one\nStrong IT and systems knowledge; Maximo experience is a plus\nExperience in outage coordination and switching/tagging procedures\nExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills\nTravel flexibility up to 25% (domestic/international\nSpanish fluency is a plus\nBenefits - we’ve got you covered!\nBase Pay: $130k-$190k (based on experience, education, and skillset)\n15% Annual Performance Bonus (based on individual and company performance)\nComprehensive Benefits starting on Day 1, including medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and eligible dependents, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), HSA company contributions, and FSA options.
