Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets.\nACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.\nThe Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.\nThe project consists of 90km of 500kV overhead transmission lines and 150 km of 330kV transmission lines for generator connections, stretching from Elong Elong in the west through to Barigan Creek in the east, via an energy hub at Merotherie.\nThe Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Project Engineer - Civil to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations Teams.\n Key Responsibilities\nAbility to develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to achieve and maintain a collaborative working environment\n\nStrong attention to detail, organisational skills and record management skills\n\nEffective time management and prioritisation skills to ensure all work is completed in the required timeframe\n\nAttend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks, team meetings and construction-related meetings as required\n\nConduct site walks with peers and supervision to monitor progression of works\n\nEnsure all downtime and non-conformances are reported and rectified in a timely manner as per the Project’s quality procedures\n\nRegularly monitor and accurately track the progress and financial performance of the works being completed vs. the budget and targets. Review performance and rectify any foreseeable issues\n\nEnsure that all commercial deliverables are met in a timely manner to meet end of month financial reporting requirements, i.e. Progress Claims, variations and assessment of subcontractor claims, etc.\n\nContribute to the overall site 3 week lookahead and construction program for risk and opportunity\n\nImplement risk controls and actions that will improve the safety, financial and engineering performance for the site. Formally communicate risks and their controls with all relevant personnel prior to works being conducted\n\nEnsure effective 2-way interface with the construction team (engineering team, supervision, workforce, etc.) is maintained to ensure effective communication of critical tasks, upcoming works, maintenance schedules and required machinery\n\nAnalyse all equipment requirements and prepare a plant schedule in line with the program.\n\nProvide assistance to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of all equipment required\n\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in civil engineering\n\nTier 1 Contractor experience on large scale projects including foundations, piling, bulk earthworks,\n\nPreferable experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above\n\nExperience working on a mega-construction Projects\n\nProblem solving / analytical skills\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nExcellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace\n\nHighly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills\n\nKnowledge and understanding of all applicable Project policies and procedures\n\nDemonstrated knowledge of contractual requirements and legislation relevant to the scope\n\nProject Engineer positions are bus in, bus out, camp style accommodation provided for 14 days onsite and 7 days off site, on a roster-based arrangement out of the Central West Orana Region.\nPlease note: This position is being delivered as part of a joint venture between two organisations.
