As a global leader in water infrastructure, we deliver some of the world's most complex and innovative desalination, drinking water, wastewater and water recycling projects.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Water business in Sydney and play a key role in delivering major water infrastructure projects across Australia.\nThe Opportunity\nReporting to senior project leadership, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.\nYou will lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the delivery of water, wastewater, recycled water and desalination projects across all project phases.\n\nManage project scope, programme, budget, resources, risks and contractual obligations.\n\nCoordinate engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.\n\nProvide leadership to multidisciplinary project teams and foster a high-performance culture.\n\nDevelop and maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.\n\nManage project controls, financial performance, forecasting and reporting.\n\nLead risk management, commercial management and contract administration activities.\n\nOversee testing, commissioning and operational acceptance of water infrastructure assets.\n\nDrive innovation, continuous improvement and sustainable project delivery outcomes.\n\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nYou are a proven Project Manager with significant experience delivering complex water infrastructure projects and a passion for leading teams and achieving exceptional project outcomes.\nEssential Requirements\nDegree qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or related discipline).\n\n10+ years' experience delivering major water, wastewater, recycled water, desalination or related infrastructure projects.\n\nDemonstrated experience across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover phases.\n\nStrong commercial, contractual and financial management capability.\n\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.\n\nSound understanding of WHS, environmental and quality management requirements.\n\nExcellent communication, leadership and negotiation skills.\n\nHighly Regarded\nExperience delivering treatment plants, desalination facilities or water recycling projects.\n\nExperience in commissioning and operational readiness activities.\n\nChartered Engineer, PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent professional accreditation.\n\nExperience within EPC and Design & Construct delivery models.\n\nACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
