The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities, compliance with Philippine regulatory requirements, and effective management of cash and investment portfolios.The position requires a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional with strong experience in Philippine accounting and taxation, treasury and banking operations, SAP ERP system, and financial reporting under Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS/IFRS).\nThe Senior Accountant will work closely with business units, banks, auditors, tax authorities, and management while driving process improvements and finance transformation initiatives.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\nA. Financial Accounting and General Ledger Management\nLead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.\nReview and approve journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and adjustments.\nEnsure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.\nReview balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.\nMonitor compliance with PFRS/IFRS and company accounting policies.\nPrepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports.\nAnalyze financial results and explain significant variances and unusual transactions.\nMaintain schedules for fixed assets, leases, borrowings, investments, and other significant accounts.\nEnsure proper accounting treatment of complex or non-routine transactions.\nB. Treasury and Cash Management\nManage daily cash position and liquidity requirements.\nPrepare and review short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.\nMonitor working capital and optimize cash utilization.\nOversee bank account administration, signatory management, and banking relationships.\nReview and approve payment runs, fund transfers, and treasury transactions.\nMonitor debt obligations, loan repayments, interest accruals, and financing arrangements.\nCoordinate with banks regarding financing facilities, foreign exchange requirements, investment products, and treasury services.\nEnsure compliance with treasury policies and internal controls.\nC. Investment Management and Accounting\nMonitor and account for investments such as:Time Deposits\nMoney Market Placements\nOther Financial Assets\n\nTrack investment maturities, yields, interest income, and reinvestment opportunities.\nPrepare investment portfolio reports for management review.\nCalculate and review accrued interest income and fair value adjustments where applicable.\nCoordinate with banks and investment institutions regarding placements and investment strategies.\nEvaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to management.\nEnsure proper accounting and disclosure of investments in accordance with PFRS/IFRS.\nD. Tax Compliance and Regulatory Reporting\nOversee the preparation and review of Philippine tax compliance requirements, including:Annual and Quarterly Income Tax Returns\n\nReview tax reconciliations and supporting schedules.\nAssist in responding to BIR audits, assessments, and regulatory inquiries.\nMonitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.\nE. SAP ERP and Systems Management\nAct as a key user for SAP Financial Accounting (FI), Treasury and General Ledger modules.\nReview accounting transactions recorded in SAP and ensure data integrity.\nParticipate in system enhancements, upgrades, testing, and implementation projects.\nSupport automation initiatives and finance process digitalization efforts.\nDevelop and improve SAP reports and reconciliation processes.\nTrain junior finance staff on SAP-related processes and controls.\nF. Digital Banking and Electronic Payment Operations\nManage digital banking platforms and electronic payment systems.\nReview and approve online banking transactions in accordance with authority limits.\nCoordinate with banks regarding:Online banking administration\nUser access controls\nDigital payment facilities\nCash management services\n\nEnsure security and compliance of online banking activities.\nMonitor electronic fund transfers, intercompany transfers, and automated payment processes.\nSupport the implementation and optimization of digital banking solutions.\nDigital banking platform experience is highly preferred, including exposure to:\nJPM Access\nUnionBank Portal\nBDO Business Online Banking\nOther corporate online banking platforms\nG. Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management\nSupervise and mentor Junior Accountants and Accounting Assistants.\nReview work output and provide coaching and technical guidance.\nCollaborate with Procurement, HR, Operations, Legal, Treasury partners, and external stakeholders.\nSupport Finance Manager and CFO in special projects and strategic initiatives.\nPromote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.\nIdeal Candidate Profile\nA successful candidate is aCPA or highly experienced accounting professional with 5-8 years of accounting experience, includingfinancial reporting, treasury management, investment accounting, tax compliance, and SAP ERP operations.
