ACCIONA Energía is governed by the most demanding environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to play a key role in the development, connection, commissioning and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects across Australia. Based in Melbourne or Brisbane, you'll work on utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage projects, helping bring new generation assets safely and successfully onto the National Electricity Market.Job Description\nReporting to the Connections Manager, you will provide technical leadership across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and grid connection applications through to commissioning, model validation and operational support. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, AEMO and network service providers to deliver successful connection outcomes for some of Australia's most significant renewable energy projects.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and support grid connection activities for utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage projects across the full project lifecycle.\nDeliver power system studies, technical assessments and grid connection documentation to support successful connection and compliance outcomes.\nWork closely with AEMO, network service providers, consultants and project teams to navigate connection requirements and technical approvals.\nProvide engineering leadership during commissioning, testing, model validation and energisation activities.\nSupport operational assets by resolving power system performance issues and ensuring ongoing compliance with grid obligations.\nContribute technical expertise to project development, bids and strategic initiatives that support the growth of our renewable energy portfolio.\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nDegree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.\nMinimum 5 years' experience in power systems engineering within renewable generation, transmission or distribution.\nStrong experience with power system modelling tools including PSSE, PSCAD and/or PowerFactory.\nExperience with AEMO grid connection processes and interactions with DNSPs/TNSPs.\nKnowledge of inverter-based resources including wind, solar and battery energy storage systems.\nStrong technical report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.\nEligible for membership of Engineers Australia.\nAustralian driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required\nWillingness and flexibility to travel to project sites, as required.\nCurrent member status as RPEQ and RPEV or eligible for membership\nCurrent Australian driver’s license.\nAs a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis.
