Long term work, strong job security and real career runway as more works get awarded.\nThe Project\nACCIONA is leading the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Perth, a $2.8 billion project delivered in alliance with Water Corporation and Jacobs. Stage 1 will produce 150 million litres of drinking water a day for Western Australians. The plant integrates seawater desalination with on-site groundwater treatment, a first for a plant of this scale in WA. Construction is underway, with commissioning targeted for 2028.\nThe Role\nWe’re looking for a Commissioning Site Engineer (Process) to join the commissioning team, reporting to the Manager, Commissioning. You’ll support the commissioning, start-up, performance testing and initial operation of the plant’s desalination process systems, making sure equipment and plant operations meet design, safety and performance requirements. The role spans control room monitoring and field-based troubleshooting, working with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and operations teams to support a safe, efficient start-up and the successful handover of systems to operations.\nIt suits an engineer looking to build technical, operational and leadership capability on a large-scale water infrastructure project, with exposure to commissioning at a scale few projects in Australia can offer.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop working knowledge of assigned process systems and control logic\nSupport safe execution of commissioning activities to specification and procedure\nCollaborate with operators and the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams\nConduct system walkdowns, punch listing and completion verification\nSupport loop checks, sequence testing and cause-and-effect matrix testing\nAssist with system testing, troubleshooting, performance validation and operational readiness activities\nReview and analyse process trends and data to inform commissioning decisions\nApply HSSE systems including PTW, LOTO and risk assessments\nSupport compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards\nContribute to the handover of systems to operations\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Process, or Instrumentation & Control)\nExperience commissioning or operating water treatment or desalination plants\nAbility to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs and control philosophies\nWorking knowledge of SCADA or DCS control systems\nA genuine safety-first attitude\nWillingness to be fully site-based for the commissioning phase\nWhat We Offer\nAt ACCIONA, we offer a dynamic and challenging work environment where our employees can grow and develop their careers.
