Currently involved in some of Canada’s largest infrastructure projects, ACCIONA delivers solutions that contribute to the economic and social progress of the communities in which it operates.www.acciona.ca\nJob Description\nThe Subcontract Coordinator is responsible for managing all contractual aspects of a rail construction project, ensuring compliance with contract terms, applicable legislation and project requirements. The role oversees a small team of contract administrators and supports successful project delivery by mitigating contractual risk, managing claims and coordinating closely with the Subcontracts Manager, project managers, project controls, procurement and construction and technical teams to ensure all subcontractors comply with contractual obligations, schedule, quality and health and safety standards.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContract Administration Compliance\nEnsure subcontracts, supplier agreements and consultant agreements are administered in accordance with project requirements\nInterpret contract documents and provide guidance to administrators and project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms, technical specifications, drawings, schedules and applicable law and regulations\nChange Management & Claims\nManage change orders, variations, and contract modifications, including pricing, schedule impacts, and approvals\nSupport preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of claims, disputes, and time extensions\nMaintain detailed records to support entitlement and defend against claims\nRisk & Commercial Management\nIdentify contractual and commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies\nMonitor contractor performance, contractual and team KPIs\nSupport commercial forecasting and cost control related to contract obligations\nStakeholder Coordination\nCoordinate with engineering, construction, scheduling, cost control, and procurement teams\nParticipate in project meetings and provide contractual input on key decisions\nReporting & Documentation\nMaintain accurate contract files, correspondence, and registers (changes, claims, RFIs, notices)\nEnsure administrators are tracking key contractual dates, milestones, and notice requirements\nReview contract status reports for management and project leadership \nWork Conditions\nField-office and office-based role on an active rail construction site\nMay require travel between job sites, depots, and client offices\nRequired Skills and Competencies\n Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in construction management, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or related field\n5+ years of contract management experience on major infrastructure or rail construction projects\nStrong knowledge of construction contracts\nUnderstanding of rail project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CM/GC, PPP)\nExperience administering change orders, claims, and dispute resolution processes\n\n Preferred QualificationsExperience on rail, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects\nFamiliarity with government-funded or public-sector rail projects\nProfessional certifications (CCM, CPCM, PMP, MRICS)\n\n Key Skills & CompetenciesContract interpretation and negotiationces\n\nThis role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $90,000-$120,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.\nIn addition to base salary, this role includes a total rewards package that supports employee well-being, development, and long-term growth, subject to company policies and applicable provincial employment standards, including:\nPaid vacation and sick leave\nGroup benefits and EFAP from your start date, with premiums paid by ACCIONA\nHealth Spending Account\nLearning, development, and internal career opportunities\nRRSP matching\nPerformance-based discretionary bonus\nShare purchase program\nACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Canada, as well as the Top Employers North America 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 seal, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
