This role is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary engineering efforts, managing day-to-day technical delivery, overseeing engineering consultants and discipline leads, and ensuring project technical activities are completed in accordance with project requirements, quality standards, technical procedures, schedules, and budget objectives.\nJob Description\nEngineering Management and Technical Delivery\nManage the day-to-day execution of engineering and technical activities in support of project objectives.\n\nCoordinate engineering efforts across treatment, conveyance, intake/discharge, pumping, storage, and operational systems.\n\nImplement technical strategies, standards, procedures, and engineering directives established by the Technical Lead.\n\nMonitor engineering progress and ensure technical deliverables are completed on schedule and in accordance with project requirements.\n\nSupport development and execution of engineering work plans, resource plans, and technical schedules.\n\nIdentify and elevate significant technical issues requiring Technical Lead review and direction.\n\nDesign Coordination and Integration\nCoordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, and discipline leads to ensure integrated project delivery.\n\nManage the preparation, review, tracking, and distribution of engineering deliverables, including:\nTechnical studies and reports\n\nDesign packages\n\nDrawings and specifications\n\nDesign calculations\n\nHydraulic and process modeling inputs and outputs\n\nFacilitate interdisciplinary design reviews and ensure timely resolution of review comments.\n\nCoordinate technical interfaces among design disciplines and project stakeholders.\n\nSupport implementation of design management and document control processes.\n\nEngineering Quality and Compliance\nSupport the Technical Lead in implementing engineering QA/QC programs and technical review procedures.\n\nMonitor compliance with project engineering standards, design criteria, and quality requirements.\n\nCoordinate technical reviews to verify consistency, completeness, and constructability of engineering deliverables.\n\nEnsure engineering activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and project specifications, including:\nAWWA\n\nASTM\n\nNFPA\n\nOSHA\n\nArizona regulatory requirements\n\nTechnical Risk and Issue Management\nTrack and manage technical risks throughout planning, design, construction, and commissioning phases.\n\nSupport maintenance of technical risk registers and mitigation action plans.\n\nCoordinate evaluations of:\nDesign alternatives\n\nConstructability considerations\n\nOperational impacts\n\nMaintainability requirements\n\nLifecycle cost implications\n\nFacilitate timely resolution of technical issues affecting project performance, schedule, or cost.\n\nStakeholder and Interface Coordination\nCoordinate closely with:\nDiscipline Leads\n\nEngineering Managers\n\nConstruction Management\n\nCommissioning Teams\n\nProcurement Personnel\n\nO&M Representatives\n\nEnvironmental and Permitting Teams\n\nFacilitate technical coordination meetings, workshops, and interface reviews.\n\nSupport technical communications with WIFA representatives, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory stakeholders.\n\nMaintain technical action item logs and ensure follow-through on assigned commitments.\n\nProcurement, Construction, and Commissioning Support\nCoordinate technical support activities related to procurement and vendor management.\n\nAssist in the review of vendor proposals, technical submittals, equipment selections, and shop drawings.\n\nSupport construction teams by coordinating engineering responses to field issues, RFIs, and technical queries.\n\nAssist commissioning teams with testing, startup, system integration, and operational readiness activities.\n\nCoordinate technical support during project handover and transition to operations.\n\nReporting and Performance Monitoring\nPrepare technical reports, engineering dashboards, and project performance updates.\n\nMonitor engineering KPIs, design progress, and technical deliverable status.\n\nProvide regular updates to the Technical Lead regarding:\nEngineering progress\n\nTechnical risks\n\nResource requirements\n\nInterface challenges\n\nCritical technical issues\n\nSupport forecasting and management of engineering workloads and staffing requirements.\n\nRequired Skills and Competencies\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline, master’s degree preferred.\n\nProven experience of progressively responsible technical experience on large water, wastewater, or conveyance infrastructure programs.\n\nSkills\nEnterprise-level technical judgment.\n\nMultidisciplinary coordination and systems thinking.\n\nRisk-based decision making.\n\nClear communication with executive, technical, and regulatory stakeholders.\n\nFocus on long-term operational performance and asset
