The role plays a key part in maintaining operational standards, optimising resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering a safe and comfortable environment for guests and Heartists.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssist the Chief Engineer in managing the daily operations of the Engineering & Maintenance Department, ensuring the efficient upkeep and smooth operation of all hotel facilities and assets.\nLead, supervise, and motivate the Engineering team to maintain high standards of operational efficiency, safety, and service delivery.\n\nPlan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities and building equipment.\n\nMonitor and ensure the proper functioning of the hotel's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, fire protection and other building systems.\n\nEnsure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements, fire safety regulations, workplace safety standards and BizSAFE Level 3 requirements.\n\nOversee the hotel's fire safety programme, ensuring that fire protection systems, emergency equipment and safety procedures are properly maintained and implemented.\n\nCoordinate and supervise external contractors, vendors and service providers to ensure quality workmanship, timely completion and adherence to safety standards.\n\nMonitor departmental budgets and maintenance costs while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and implement energy and resource conservation initiatives.\n\nCoach and develop team members, coordinate technical and safety training, and drive continuous improvement within the department.\n\nMaintain proper engineering records and liaise with hotel management, consultants, and relevant authorities on maintenance, engineering projects, and regulatory matters.
