As Banquet Server, you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests by making their special occasions truly unforgettable.\nWhat you will be doing:\nReporting to the Director of Banquets, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:\nProvide prompt, courteous and efficient food & beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts food & beverage standards\nWork as part of a team to provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting set ups and all meal functions\nEffectively handle guest concerns through empowerment, and report any irregularities to Leader\nReport any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet Captains\nEnsure the equipment and all work areas are maintained to hotel standard\nMaintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times\nCompliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program\nCarry out any other tasks as assigned\nPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):\nConstant standing and walking throughout shift.\nFrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.\nOccasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.\nOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.\n Your experience and skills include:\nMinimum 1 year in a similar function in Food & Beverage, preferably Banquets or Conventions\nPost-Secondary education in Hotel/Food and Beverage Management an asset\nSelf-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions\nDemonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision\nAbility to maintain high service levels under pressure\nPhysically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift.\nYou may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts.\nCandidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certification\nSubmission of your application to Fairmont Hotel Macdonald indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed.\nMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.
