Discover the life that awaits you at Accor, visit https://careers.accor.com/\nDo what you love, care for the world, dare to challenge the status quo! #BELIMITLESS\"\n Key Responsibilities:\nEngineering Planning\nAssist the General Manager to identify the major facilities and equipment requirements for the department and the property.\nEnsure correct maintenance of all equipment in conjunction with the other user departments & stay abreast with the technological advances in surveillance & safety of equipment.\nPeople Management\nEstablish and maintain seamless co-ordination & co-operation with all departments of the hotel to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.\nProvide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver effective and efficient services.\nRespond to customer queries by resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.\nMotivate and develop staff to ensure smooth functioning of the department.\nEnsure that the team is trained in all safety provisions.\nFinancial Management\nEnsure optimal, cost effective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.\nOperational Management\nInspect regularly to assess the state of the buildings and of the installations. This applies to the inspections of : all stonework, brickwork, paint works, coating, facing, covering, flooring, plumbing and carpentry, and questions concerning the heating, air conditioning, hot water tank as well as electrical problems relevant to high and low current (telephone, television, neon signs, kitchen equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.), questions concerning refrigeration (refrigerating unit) and the functioning of elevators.\nTo supervise the operations of Air-conditioning plant, boilers, pumps etc.\nFollow proper safety measures.\nCheck and ensure that the temperature of cold stores, public areas etc. are maintained as per the specifications.\nEnsure that all complaints are recorded and attended to promptly ensuring guest satisfaction.\nCoordinate with other departments for preventive maintenance of the equipment.\nCheck and ensure proper handling, operation and maintenance of all the equipment.\nEnsure that desired level of water is maintained in water storage tanks.\nCheck and ensure the working condition of fire detectors, fire fighting systems, transformers, electrical systems, etc.\nCheck and ensure that proper safety measures have been adhered to and also ensure maintenance of all fire fighting equipment\nManagerial Qualities\nLeadership skills that utilize persuasion and motivation to attain organizational goals is the most desirable management quality, followed by honesty, integrity, ethical behaviour, tactfulness, openness, and cultural awareness;\nAbility to accept responsibility;\nSelf confidence, motivation, drive and tenacity;\nAbility to enhance organizational performance;\nAbility to clearly delegate tasks and responsibilities;\nAbility to think strategically, inductively, and creatively;\nAnd the propensity to recognize and acknowledge other peoples’ ideas.\nHygiene / Personal safety / Environment:\n Ensures that the workplace and storage areas remain clean and tidy\nRespects the instructions and safety guidelines for the equipment (s)he uses\nApplies the hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)\nApplies the ISO 9001 quality certification requirements that impact his/her role\nRespects the hotel's commitments to the \"Environment Charter\" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc) and meets Ibis' ISO 14001 environmental commitments as applicable to the role, if the hotel is involved
