the General Manager, you will oversee all Engineering and Maintenance operations, leading a team of two Duty Technicians.\nYou will play a key role in maintaining the hotel's infrastructure, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, improving energy efficiency, managing contractors and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and fire safety requirements.\nThis is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, effective communication and a commitment to operational excellence.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering Leadership & Maintenance\nLead, mentor and support the Engineering team to achieve high standards of performance and service.\n\nPlan, coordinate and oversee preventative maintenance programs, reactive repairs and daily engineering activities.\n\nEnsure all hotel facilities, equipment and building systems are maintained to the highest standards.\n\nRespond effectively to maintenance emergencies and minimise disruption to hotel operations.\n\nSafety, Compliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with WHS, fire safety and relevant regulatory requirements.\n\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports and statutory documentation.\n\nOversee contractor safety, compliance and performance.\n\nConduct regular inspections, identify risks and implement appropriate corrective actions.\n\nPrepare monthly maintenance reports and quarterly audit documentation.\n\nAsset Management & Sustainability\nDevelop and implement initiatives to improve energy efficiency, water conservation and environmental sustainability.\n\nMonitor the performance of building systems and identify opportunities to reduce operational costs.\n\nSupport asset protection and long-term maintenance planning.\n\nProject & Financial Management\nPrepare capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals and oversee approved projects.\n\nLiaise with ownership representatives, external contractors and service providers.\n\nCoordinate engineering projects to ensure quality, cost efficiency and minimal operational disruption.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and overall hotel performance.\n\nCollaboration & Guest Experience\nWork closely with all hotel departments to resolve maintenance matters promptly.\n\nMaintain a proactive approach to guest comfort, safety and service excellence.\n\nProvide technical advice and recommendations to the General Manager.\n\n To be successful in this role, you will bring:\nA relevant trade qualification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical or a related technical discipline.\n\nPrevious experience leading an Engineering or Maintenance team, ideally within a large multi-storey hotel, resort or complex building environment.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of building services, preventative maintenance and hotel engineering operations.\n\nDemonstrated experience in contractor management, WHS and fire safety compliance.\n\nExcellent leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.\n\nThe ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.\n\nA proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach to leadership.\n\nAvailability to respond to critical emergency maintenance situations outside normal working hours when required,
