We're looking for someone with the passion, energy, and drive to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while continuing to grow and develop their culinary career.\n The Role...\nAs a Commis Chef, you will:\nAssist with food production while ensuring consistency, presentation, quality, and adherence to recipes and standards.\nPrepare and cook dishes using correct cooking methods and techniques.\nMaintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace safety.\nFollow food safety guidelines and GIA procedures relating to food waste management.\nEnsure food supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated correctly to minimise spoilage and support cost control.\nAssist in guiding and supporting junior kitchen team members where required.\nContribute positively to a professional and collaborative kitchen culture.\nWork across a variety of service periods, including à la carte dining, functions, events, and special occasions.\nMaintain a \"Can Do\" attitude and consistently deliver high standards of service and quality.\n What We're Looking For...\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\nCommercial Cookery Qualification (Certificate III or IV).\nPrevious experience working in a professional kitchen environment.\nExperience working on pans and grill sections.\nExposure to à la carte dining, functions, and events.\nStrong understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety legislation.\nA genuine passion for hospitality and creating exceptional food experiences.\nA creative flair with strong attention to detail and food presentation.\nKnowledge of current culinary trends and industry best practices.\nA passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce.\nThe ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\nA willingness to learn, develop, and grow within a professional kitchen brigade.\nThe ability to work independently on a section or as part of a larger team.\nFlexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.\nPlease note: Applicants must hold unrestricted Australian working rights and be available to work a full-time roster.
