This role ensures the smooth operation of all hotel facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. The Chief Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the hotel’s safety standards, managing energy efficiency, and providing a high level of service to both internal and external guests.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLeadership and Team Management:\nLead and supervise the engineering team, including recruiting, training, and developing staff to maintain a highly skilled and motivated team.\nAssign tasks, manage shifts, and oversee daily operations of the engineering department.\nProvide technical expertise and support for maintenance staff.\n\nMaintenance and Operations:\nOversee all maintenance programs, preventive maintenance, and repairs for all hotel equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.\nEnsure that all hotel facilities and systems are functioning efficiently and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.\nManage day-to-day operational issues, ensuring quick and efficient problem resolution to minimize downtime and guest inconvenience.\n\nBudget and Financial Management:\nPrepare and manage the department's budget, including controlling costs related to maintenance, energy consumption, and capital expenditures.\nEnsure proper inventory control of parts and supplies, as well as efficient energy and water management to optimize operational expenses.\nMonitor and analyze energy consumption, looking for cost-saving opportunities.\n\nHealth, Safety, and Compliance:\nEnsure all building systems comply with health and safety regulations, including fire safety systems, emergency lighting, and building security.\nOversee regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with all local, national, and international standards and regulations.\nAct as the key contact during emergencies and ensure the safety of guests and employees.\n\nCapital Projects and Renovations:\nOversee engineering aspects of capital projects, renovations, and upgrades within the hotel, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.\nCollaborate with external contractors and service providers as needed for large-scale projects and technical services.\n\nCollaboration with Other Departments:\nWork closely with the housekeeping, front office, and food & beverage departments to ensure all guest areas and back-of-house operations are in optimal condition.\nAssist in setting up rooms, conference facilities, and event spaces when engineering support is needed.\nProvide timely communication and status updates on engineering tasks to hotel management.\n\nSustainability and Environmental Initiatives:\nDevelop and implement energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to reduce the hotel's environmental impact.\nCollaborate with the management team on environmental sustainability efforts, ensuring alignment with the hotel's corporate responsibility policies.\n\n Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a related field.\n7+ years of experience in hotel engineering or facilities management, with at least 3 years in a senior engineering leadership role.\nStrong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.\nExperience in budgeting, project management, and contractor management.\nExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nKnowledge of sustainability practices and energy management systems is preferred.\nFamiliarity with local regulations, building codes, and safety standards.\nCompetencies:\nStrong leadership and team management capabilities.\nAnalytical and detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.\nStrong communication and interpersonal
