Dare to challenge the status quo. #BELIMITLESS\n The Night Auditor is responsible for supporting the overnight operations of the hotel, including Front Office, Portering, guest services and security. The role ensures the hotel runs smoothly overnight while providing friendly and professional service to guests.\nKey responsibilities include:\nComplete the overnight Night Audit, including checking room rates, charges, revenues and balancing transactions.\nProcess cash, credit card and other financial transactions in line with hotel procedures.\nPrepare daily reports, statistics and Accounts Receivable billings.\nOperate the hotel PMS and complete required reports, system back-ups and end-of-day processes.\nAssist with Front Office duties, including guest arrivals and departures, check-ins/check-outs and reservations.\nProvide overnight guest services, including luggage assistance, wake-up calls, newspapers and room service.\nAnswer the telephone and ensure messages are accurately recorded and delivered promptly.\nMaintain accurate records of guest property and follow lost property procedures.\nMaintain hotel public areas to a clean and presentable standard.\nSupport hotel security, including monitoring the building and ensuring hotel keys are secure.\nFollow all emergency, fire and evacuation procedures.\nCommunicate important guest and operational information through the Front Office logbook.\nIn the absence of the Night Manager, take responsibility for the overnight team and operations.\nIdentify opportunities to upsell rooms and hotel facilities where appropriate.\nReport any maintenance, health and safety issues, accidents or incidents.\nFollow all hotel, Accor and health & safety policies and procedures.\nAttend required training and meetings and contribute positively to the wider hotel team.\nComplete any other reasonable duties as required by Hotel Management.\n What we're looking for:\nPrevious experience in Front Office, Night Audit, Reception or a similar hotel role.\nPrevious experience working overnight or in a role requiring independent decision-making is preferred.\nExperience with hotel PMS systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly.\nGood understanding of cash handling, financial transactions and basic reconciliation.\nStrong attention to detail, particularly when completing reports and balancing accounts.\nExcellent communication and customer service skills.\nAbility to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when dealing with guests or unexpected situations.\nAbility to work independently and take responsibility for overnight hotel operations.\nGood organisational and time-management skills.\nConfidence assisting with guest enquiries, reservations and upselling.\nUnderstanding of health & safety, emergency and security procedures.\nA positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues.\nAbility to follow hotel policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements.\nDesirable:\nPrevious Night Auditor or Night Manager experience.\nExperience with Opera/PMS and night audit processes.\nHospitality or hotel management qualification.\nFirst Aid or relevant emergency training.\n Benefits of working at Mercure Queenstown Resort\nSituated on a unique vantage point with breath taking views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain range, Mercure Queenstown Resort offers 148 guests rooms, two restaurants, a lounge bar and conference facilities.\nWork Your Way - Speak with us about your desired work life balance and make it a reality!\nFree use and access of our gym, saunas, hot tubs and swimming pool.\nFree meals provided while on shift.\nAccommodation discounts & Free Anniversary Stay.\nEmployee Assistance Program.\nFantastic career growth opportunities.\nAbility to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities.\nEmployee benefit card offering discounted rates with Accor worldwide.\nOur commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are an inclusive company, and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
