This role supervises daily engineering operations during assigned shifts, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensures all systems are compliant with safety and environmental standards. The Shift Engineer plays a critical role in creating a comfortable and safe environment for guests and employees while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainability.\nKey Responsibilities\nOversee daily engineering operations during assigned shifts, ensuring all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool/spa, elevators, generators, lighting, etc.) are fully operational. \nConduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of technical equipment across the hotel, spa, kitchen, F&B outlets, and staff areas. \nLead and supervise the engineering team, including junior engineers, technicians, and contractors, ensuring proper task delegation, coverage, and operational excellence. \nCoordinate and monitor repair and maintenance work, including external contractors, to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion. \nRespond promptly to technical emergencies or breakdowns, including electrical failures, water leaks, HVAC issues, or safety hazards, minimizing guest impact. \nEnsure compliance with local Greek safety regulations, EU directives, and environmental standards across all technical systems and hotel operations. \nSupport pre-opening activities or seasonal hotel re-openings, ensuring all technical systems are fully functional. \nMaintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment logs. \nCollaborate with other departments (F&B, Housekeeping, Front Office, Spa, HR) to ensure smooth operations, particularly during peak hours or special events. \nAnalyze operational data to identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives. \nMonitor energy consumption, water usage, and sustainability measures, contributing to cost-effective and eco-friendly operations. \nConduct safety audits, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions proactively. \nPrepare shift reports for the Engineering Manager or Cluster Technical Manager, highlighting operational performance, incidents, maintenance completed, and recommendations. \n Who We’re Looking For\nMinimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel engineering, preferably with experience in resorts, spas, or large-scale properties. \nProven knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool/spa systems, generators, and F&B technical operations. \nExperience managing engineering teams and coordinating external contractors. \nExperience in pre-openings will be considered as a plus.\nHands-on experience with preventive maintenance programs, safety compliance, and technical audits. \nFamiliarity with Greek laws, EU regulations, and local safety standards related to engineering operations in hotels. \nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. \nAbility to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies or high-demand situations. \nFluency in English; additional languages are a plus. \nEligible to work in an EU country. \nComfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and responding to on-site emergencies. \nCommitted to creating safe, secure, and exceptional experiences for guests and staff. \nCommitted to creating exceptional and memorable guest experiences. \nPassionate about culture, art, and authentic hospitality. \n Perks You’ll Love\nTeam rates at LUURA, Ennismore & Accor properties worldwide.\nDiscounts at our restaurants, bars, and cafes.\nAccess to art, cultural events & live music nights.\nRecognition that matters -
