Delano Miami Beach will act as the brand’s flagship location, re-establishing Delano as a trailblazer in luxury lifestyle hospitality. \n Under the general guidance of the Assistant Director of Finance, the Staff Accountant is responsible for reporting the Hotel's financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with the preparation of financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with the Company's policies and procedures. This role plays a key part in the month end close process, daily financial reporting, and overall financial integrity of the hotel.\nYOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nIncome Audit\nPerform daily audits of revenue from Front Office, Food and beverage, and other outlets.\n\nReconcile POS and PMS reports to ensure all income is properly recorded.\n\nInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between revenue reports and actual receipts.\n\nPrepare and distribute daily revenue and audit reports to management.\n\nAccounts Payable\nProcess vendor invoices and ensure timely payment in accordance with vendor payment terms and hotel policy.\n\nVerify invoice accuracy, obtain necessary approvals, and resolve discrepancies.\n\nMaintain vendor files and respond to inquiries related to payment status.\n\nAccounts Receivable\nPost and reconcile guest and group billing charges.\n\nMonitor outstanding balance and follow up on overdue accounts.\n\nGenerate and distribute invoices for events, group booking, and corporate accounts.\n\nPrepare AR aging reports and supports collected and efforts.\n\nGeneral Accounting\nPrepare and record journal entries, approvals, and adjustments.\n\nReconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements regularly.\n\nAssist with month end and year end closing activities.\n\nEnsure compliance with internal controls and financial policies and assist in preparations for internal and external audits.\n\nWe recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that it may require us to provide lateral service.\n\nWe will on occasion call for each individual on the team on a routine basis to perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.\n\n Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.\n\nMinimum five years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least two years in a hotel or hospitality setting and one to two years in a supervisory or managerial role.\n\nStrong understanding of hotel accounting principles, including full-cycle month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash flow management.\n\nProficient in accounting systems and hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, SunSystems, M3, BirchStreet, or similar).\n\nExcellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls; experience with audit preparation and financial compliance practices.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to interpret and present financial data clearly.\n\nEffective leadership and team management abilities, including experience training, mentoring, and evaluating accounting staff.\n\nHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling; strong skills in Word and PowerPoint.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.\n\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.\n\nDiscretion, professionalism, and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive financial information.\n\nKnowledge of hotel operations and interdepartmental functions to support effective financial decision-making and cross-functional collaboration.\n\nFamiliarity with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including tax, labor, and licensing laws.\n\nAll team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
