We are a bright, colourful and stylish hotel, with a vibrant and diverse culture of Heartists who work here with us.\nWe are looking for our next Full-time Hotel Accountant to join the ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street team.\nDue to an internal promotion this rare role has come up and reports directly to the Financial Controller. It is supported by a Senior Finance Officer. Given our unique hotel composition, this role is not your typical Hotel Accountant role and is heavily operationally involved!\nMain responsibilities include:\nManage day-to-day accounting activities across the hotel.\nProcess and oversee accounts payable.\nManage the hotel's fortnightly payroll and chair payroll meetings.\nComplete bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.\nPrepare daily and monthly financial reports and information.\nMonitor outstanding accounts and support credit control processes.\nPrepare and post month-end journals and assist with month-end close and reporting requirements.\nAssist the Financial Controller with budget preparation and audit requests.\nMaintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.\nPartner with Department Managers to identify opportunities to improve departmental and hotel profitability.\nIdentify and implement improvements to accounting processes and efficiencies.\nEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, Accor policies and internal controls.\n We're looking for someone who brings:\nQualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.\nPrevious experience in an accounting or finance role.\nStrong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.\nA solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.\nAdvanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across the hotel.\nThe ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.\nA proactive attitude and genuine interest in developing a career in finance.\nPrevious hotel or hospitality finance experience (preferred).\nExperience with Opera Cloud, Zambion, PurchasePlus, Micros Symphony or SunSystems Cloud (preferred).*** This role is not available for sponsorship.
