Live and work in a place you love!\n SALARY: $79,800 to $93,000\nPOSITION PURPOSE\nAs our Landscaping / Engineering Manager, you will lead the stewardship, preservation, and enhancement of the resort's extensive landscape and grounds while providing support to the Engineering Department. You will oversee all landscaping operations, irrigation systems, horticultural programs, and grounds maintenance activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, sustainability, luxury presentation, and guest satisfaction. Through effective leadership, coaching, and development of the landscaping team, you will create and maintain the exceptional outdoor environments that contribute to the Fairmont Kea Lani guest experience.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nResponsible for providing service within Fairmont and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards. Areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to, the following:\nLead, coach, motivate, and develop the Landscaping team to ensure high performance, productivity, and engagement.\nManage daily landscaping operations to ensure resort grounds, gardens, pathways, parking areas, and exterior public spaces consistently meet luxury presentation standards.\nDevelop and maintain mowing, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, and preventive maintenance programs.\nOversee the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all irrigation systems to ensure efficient water management and healthy landscape conditions.\nMonitor plant health and implement appropriate horticultural practices for tropical plants, trees, shrubs, turf, and seasonal plantings.\nEnsure proper application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and other landscape treatments in accordance with company policies, environmental standards, and manufacturer requirements.\nCoordinate tree trimming, hedge maintenance, debris removal, and green waste recycling programs.\nEstablish work schedules and staffing plans while managing labor costs in accordance with budgetary guidelines.\nConduct pre-shift meetings and department training sessions focused on safety, service excellence, sustainability, and operational priorities.\nManage inventory levels for landscaping materials, tools, equipment, chemicals, and irrigation components, including ordering and purchasing as required.\nEnsure all landscaping equipment is properly maintained and safely operated, including mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, utility vehicles, and related equipment.\nComplete performance evaluations, coaching conversations, and performance management processes for departmental colleagues.\nMaintain compliance with all safety regulations, environmental requirements, and resort policies regarding landscaping and engineering operations.\nCoordinate with Engineering, Housekeeping, Recreation, Food & Beverage, and other departments to support resort operations and special events.\nFocus attention on colleague safety, guest satisfaction, and continuous improvement opportunities throughout the resort grounds.\nActively participate and promote Fairmont Kea Lani Maui's environmental stewardship initiatives and sustainability programs.\nPrepare departmental reports, budgets, forecasts, and operational plans as required.\nFollow hotel and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.\nContribute to the improvement of operations through innovation, process improvements, and participation in departmental communication meetings.\nIn the absence of the Engineering Manager, provide leadership and operational oversight of the Engineering team, ensuring continuity of operations, completion of preventive maintenance programs, and adherence to departmental standards.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nOther\nRegular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Colleagues with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.\nDue to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, colleagues may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
