Surrounded by the city’s best dining, entertainment, and culture, they are destinations in their own right - offering unforgettable stays for leisure and business travellers alike.\nAs part of the Accor network, we deliver heartfelt hospitality, celebrate diversity, and offer a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.\n What you will be doing:\nThe Night Auditor is responsible for supporting the overnight operations of the hotel, including Front Office, Portering, guest services and security. The role ensures the hotel runs smoothly overnight while providing friendly and professional service to guests.\nKey responsibilities include:\nComplete the overnight Night Audit, including checking room rates, charges, revenues and balancing transactions.\n\nProcess cash, credit card and other financial transactions in line with hotel procedures.\n\nPrepare daily reports, statistics and Accounts Receivable billings.\n\nOperate the hotel PMS and complete required reports, system back-ups and end-of-day processes.\n\nAssist with Front Office duties, including guest arrivals and departures, check-ins/check-outs and reservations.\n\nProvide overnight guest services, including luggage assistance, wake-up calls, newspapers and room service.\n\nAnswer the telephone and ensure messages are accurately recorded and delivered promptly.\n\nMaintain accurate records of guest property and follow lost property procedures.\n\nMaintain hotel public areas to a clean and presentable standard.\n\nSupport hotel security, including monitoring the building and ensuring hotel keys are secure.\n\nFollow all emergency, fire and evacuation procedures.\n\nCommunicate important guest and operational information through the Front Office logbook.\n\nIn the absence of the Night Manager, take responsibility for the overnight team and operations.\n\nIdentify opportunities to upsell rooms and hotel facilities where appropriate.\n\nReport any maintenance, health and safety issues, accidents or incidents.\n\nFollow all hotel, Accor and health & safety policies and procedures.\n\nAttend required training and meetings and contribute positively to the wider hotel team.\n\nComplete any other reasonable duties as required by Hotel Management.\n\n Previous experience in Front Office, Night Audit, Reception or a similar hotel role.\n\nPrevious experience working overnight or in a role requiring independent decision-making is preferred.\n\nExperience with hotel PMS systems and the ability to learn new systems quickly.\n\nGood understanding of cash handling, financial transactions and basic reconciliation.\n\nStrong attention to detail, particularly when completing reports and balancing accounts.\n\nExcellent communication and customer service skills.\n\nAbility to remain calm, professional and solution-focused when dealing with guests or unexpected situations.\n\nAbility to work independently and take responsibility for overnight hotel operations.\n\nGood organisational and time-management skills.\n\nConfidence assisting with guest enquiries, reservations and upselling.\n\nUnderstanding of health & safety, emergency and security procedures.\n\nA positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues.\n\nAbility to follow hotel policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements.\n\nDesirable:\nPrevious Night Auditor or Night Manager experience.\n\nExperience with Opera/PMS and night audit processes.\n\nHospitality or hotel management qualification.\n\nFirst Aid or relevant emergency training.\n\nManagers Certificate & LCQ\n\n Why work for The Sebel Auckland Viaduct Harbour & The Sebel Quay West Auckland?\nStaff meal allowance for every shift\nUniforms washed and laundered\nIncredible Accor staff Heartist benefits - including discounted food and beverage and accommodation worldwide\nCompetitive pay and industry benefits\nLearning & development opportunities through the Accor Academy - Earn while you Learn!\nAccess to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellbeing support\nBe part of a globally respected hospitality brand with career growth opportunities\nReady to step up and make your mark in Auckland’s premium waterfront hotels?\nApply today with your CV and cover letter today for immediate consideration!\nOur commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: We are an inclusive company, and our ambition is to attract, recruit and promote diverse talent.
