Job Summary The Public Relations & Communications Director is a strategic individual contributor responsible for defining and executing an integrated communications strategy that strengthens Accuity's brand, reputation, and market influence within the healthcare provider and revenue cycle space. This role leads internal communications, external communications, earned media, executive visibility, and B2B social media while serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and ensuring alignment across marketing, content, and business priorities. Responsibilities Communications Strategy & Planning\n\nDevelop and own a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with company growth objectives, brand positioning, and healthcare market dynamics\n\nDefine messaging frameworks that ensure consistency across internal and external channels\n\nPartner with marketing leadership to align communications with campaigns, brand strategy, and demand generation efforts\n\nEstablish KPIs and measurement approaches to evaluate reach, engagement, and business impact\n\nExternal Communications & Thought Leadership\n\nLead external communications programs targeting healthcare providers, health systems, and revenue cycle stakeholders\n\nPartner with content team to ensure consistent storytelling while maintaining ownership of external communications strategy and distribution\n\nDevelop and amplify thought leadership initiatives, customer stories, and industry perspectives\n\nEarned Media, Public Relations & Crisis Communications\n\nOwn and execute earned media strategy, including media relations, press outreach, and reputation management\n\nBuild and maintain relationships with healthcare, health IT, and business media outlets\n\nDevelop press materials including releases, pitches, and media kits\n\nLead proactive media engagement and positioning opportunities\n\nServe as the lead for crisis communications planning and execution, including issue management, messaging, and executive guidance\n\nPartner with legal, compliance, and leadership to manage reputational risk\n\nB2B Social Media Strategy\nDefine and lead B2B social media strategy, with emphasis on LinkedIn and relevant healthcare channels\n\nOversee content planning and distribution in partnership with content, brand, and marketing teams\n\nEnable executives and subject matter experts to amplify messaging and thought leadership\n\nTrack and optimize performance based on engagement, reach, and business relevance\n\nExecutive Communications & Visibility\nServe as a trusted advisor to executives on internal and external communications strategy\n\nDevelop executive messaging, presentations, and key stakeholder communications\n\nManage executive visibility strategy, including speaking engagements, media opportunities, and industry presence\n\nSupport personal brand development for executives across media and social platforms\n\nEnsure alignment and consistency of executive messaging with company strategy\n\nInternal Communications\nDesign and execute a cohesive internal communications strategy that informs, engages, and aligns a fully remote workforce\n\nPartner with HR and leadership to support change management and organizational initiatives\n\nQualifications Education and CredentialsBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field required\nExperience\n8 to 12+ years of experience in public relations and communications within healthcare or healthcare technology\n\nProven experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies in a B2B environment\n\nStrong media relations background with a track record of securing earned media coverage in healthcare or health IT\n\nExperience leading internal communications in a distributed or growing organization\n\nDemonstrated experience advising and supporting senior executives\n\nExperience managing crisis communications and reputational risk\n\nExperience with B2B social media strategy and executive amplification\n\nFamiliarity with healthcare provider operations, revenue cycle, or clinical documentation integrity environments strongly preferred\n\nCore Competencies\nStrategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into effective communications strategies\n\nExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities\n\nExecutive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders\n\nStrong judgment in high-stakes or sensitive communication situations\n\nAbility to operate independently as a strategic individual contributor\n\nHighly effective collaboration across a fully remote, cross-functional organization\n\nStrong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives\n\nData-driven mindset with focus on measuring and improving outcomes\n\nAdaptability and comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment\n\nAdditional Requirements\nPhysical Requirements: The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
