Our radiation therapy for cancer makes treatment shorter, safer, personalized and more effective, ultimately enabling patients to live longer, better lives.\nJob Description\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nSafety Programs & Procedures\nDevelop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, policies, procedures, and work instructions to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management.\nMonitor the effectiveness of EHS programs and recommend improvements based on regulatory changes, audit findings, incident investigations, and operational needs.\nSafety Culture & Employee Engagement\nPromote a positive safety culture by engaging employees and leaders in EHS initiatives, encouraging participation, and reinforcing accountability for safe work practices.\nPartner with site leadership to establish safety objectives and support achievement of EHS performance goals.\nRisk Assessment & Hazard Analysis\nConduct workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses to identify hazards and opportunities for risk reduction.\nDevelop, track, and verify completion of corrective and preventive actions resulting from inspections, audits, incident investigations, and regulatory findings.\nTraining & Competency\nDevelop, coordinate, and deliver EHS training programs to ensure employees, contractors, and visitors understand applicable safety requirements and safe work practices.\nMaintain training records and monitor compliance with required training and certifications.\nIncident Management\nInvestigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and hazardous conditions; determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\nCompliance & Technical Support\nProvide technical EHS guidance to employees, leaders, contractors, and consultants and support regulatory inspections and audits.\nMaintain awareness of applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations and ensure site compliance.\nPerformance Monitoring & Reporting\nAnalyze EHS performance metrics, incident trends, training compliance, and audit findings to identify improvement opportunities and report progress to management.\nOccupational Health\nCoordinate occupational health programs, medical surveillance requirements, and health-related compliance activities with external providers.\nEmergency Preparedness\nMaintain emergency response plans and participate in emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response team functions.\nRadiation Safety Support\nPartner with Global EHS leadership and external consultants to support radiation safety programs, training, audits, and regulatory compliance activities.\nPPE & Safety Equipment\nManage personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety supply programs to ensure availability, proper selection, and effective use.\nAuthority & Accountability\nExercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or activities present a risk to personnel, property, or the environment.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:\nBachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Natural Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of Degree.\n5+ years of experience working in an EHS capacity.\nDemonstrated current knowledge of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).\nFamiliarity with radiation safety requirements.\nOSHA Certification, preferred.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence, drive change, and build partnerships across all levels of the organization without direct authority.\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and culturally diverse environment.\nSelf-motivated and highly organized professional with strong administrative, documentation, and project management skills, capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.\nDemonstrated attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to balance competing demands while delivering high-quality results.\nAbility to lift up to 25 pounds and frequently walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, and crawl during course of duties.\nAbility to travel up to 5% of the time.\nTo qualify for this position, candidates must be able to furnish proof that they are authorized to work in the country they are applying on a permanent basis without sponsorship.\nEEO Statement\nAt Accuray, our commitment to patient-first outcomes drives an inclusive and collaborative work environment where the best ideas rise to the top - and everyone works to push them further.
