Our radiation therapy for cancer makes treatment shorter, safer, personalized and more effective, ultimately enabling patients to live longer, better lives.\nJob Description\nSummary:\nThe Production Assembler is responsible for assembling, testing, and shipping activities that will allow Accuray to provide products that meet customer needs and in accordance with regulatory requirements. The applicant will have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience in electro-mechanical assemblies. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nAssembly and manufacture of product, in accordance with quality system requirements, manufacturing procedures, and manufacturing instructions.\nPerform or assist in received materials, in-process product, and final product inspection/test.\nParticipate in development and review of manufacturing procedures to help ensure manufacturing requirements and goals are achieved.\nAssist in development of manufacturing instructions that document and control the manufacturing process.\nAssist the development of manufacturing tool and fixture requirements, and promote ongoing control. \nAssist the training of manufacturing area personnel, as required.\nAssist in deployment of product changes to ensure correct implementation.\nAssist the development of facility requirements to accommodate production, including workflow, shelving, other storage, and workstations.\nAssist review of packaging and shipping requirements so the product can be transported to the customer without damage.\nAssist operation of the Material Rejection Area (MRA) to promote resolution of material issues, including the promotion of timely corrective action by the supplier(s).\nProvide feedback to Engineering personnel concerning manufacturing needs and product enhancements that would improve both quality and ease of manufacturing/servicingof the product.\nInterface and support regulatory affairs as required to help ensure production processes and facilities are in accordance with FDA, OSHA and other applicable regulations.\nImplementation and use of special facility controls that may be required, for example ESD, cleanliness, etc.\nSafety and Quality:\nEnsure safety and quality considerations and requirements are proactively addressed and implemented in product production processes.\nAssist in the timely resolution of safety and quality issues raised by customers or staff.\nSupports Accuray’s Quality System and Safety and Health Program by following procedures and advising others. \nPhysical Requirements:\nThe employee must regularly lift and/or move physical inventory weighting up to 50 pounds.\nThe employee is frequently required to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required during the manufacturing, inspection, and testing of Accuray’s components and products.\nThe employee must be able to spend long periods of time standing.\nQualifications:\nAssociate degree in a production, manufacturing engineering, general engineering field, or at least three years experience working in manufacturing or engineering activities. \nExperience in interpretation and use of product design drawings and related documentation.\nExperience in the operation of heavily documented and controlled production processes.\nExperience in product testing and understanding of calibration control.\nExperience in ESD and cleanliness special control processes.\nGood written and verbal communication skills, with all levels of employees, suppliers, and customers are preferred.\nExperience with personal computer systems, including word processing, spreadsheet reports, and E-mail.\nExperience with safety and health (OSHA), FDA and ISO 9001 quality system requirements\nAccuray offers MANY amazing benefits such as:\n- 4 weeks of PTO in year one and additional with increased years of service\n- 401k plan with a discretionary match of 50% on the first 6% of your contributions\n- Purchase Accuray stock at a 15% discount\n- Educational assistance program\n- Health & Wellness benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending, HSA)\n- Survivor benefits (Life Insurance and Short/Long term Disability Plans)\nTo qualify for this position, candidates must be able to furnish proof that they are authorized to work in the country they are applying on a permanent basis without sponsorship.\nEEO Statement\nAt Accuray, our commitment to patient-first outcomes drives an inclusive and collaborative work environment where the best ideas rise to the top - and everyone works to push them further.
