Our radiation therapy for cancer makes treatment shorter, safer, personalized and more effective, ultimately enabling patients to live longer, better lives.\nJob Description\nWhat matters most: quickly learns technical and business processes, works independently, and actively seeks and applies feedback.\nPosition Summary\nThe Project Manager leads cross-functional projects supporting new product development, product changes, sustaining releases, market expansion, and process improvement initiatives. \nThe role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to deliver projects on time and meet business, technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.\nThis position is ideal for someone who quickly learns new technical and business concepts, takes ownership of outcomes, and can work independently with limited day-to-day direction. \nSuccess requires proactive communication, good judgment, and timely escalation of issues.\nEssential Responsibilities\nLead cross-functional projects from initiation through implementation or closeout.\nDevelop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risks, actions, dependencies, resources, and key deliverables.\nCoordinate activities across Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, Commercial, and other functions.\nQuickly learn the technical topics, products, and business processes needed to support assigned projects.\nTranslate complex information into clear plans, decisions, actions, and communications.\nProactively identify risks, gaps, and delays; develop mitigation plans and escalate issues with recommendations.\nDrive decisions and action items to closure and follow through on commitments.\nFacilitate project kickoffs, team meetings, project reviews, and leadership updates.\nCommunicate project status, risks, resource needs, and recommended actions clearly and concisely.\nIdentify practical opportunities to improve project execution, PMO processes, team effectiveness, and business workflows.\nSupport PMO governance, portfolio reporting, prioritization, and standard work as needed.\nMaintain accurate project documentation and support applicable quality and regulatory requirements.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant technical education and experience.\nApproximately 5 years of experience in project management, engineering, operations, product development, quality, or a related cross-functional role.\nDemonstrated ability to lead work across multiple functions and stakeholders.\nAbility to quickly understand complex technical and process-related topics.\nExperience managing project plans, schedules, risks, dependencies, actions, and status reporting.\nStrong written and verbal communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.\nSelf-starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain momentum with limited direction.\nDemonstrated ability to receive feedback, adapt, and continuously improve.\nProficiency with standard project management, collaboration, presentation, spreadsheet, and reporting tools.\nAbility to work on-site in Madison, Wisconsin up to three days per week.\nAbility to travel domestically or internationally on an occasional basis.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in medical devices, healthcare technology, software, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.\nExperience supporting product development, sustaining engineering, market expansion, or process improvement projects.\nFamiliarity with quality systems, design controls, or regulatory requirements.\nExperience with Jira, Microsoft 365, or similar project and collaboration platforms.\nAbility to develop or improve processes using automation and/or AI tools.\nPMP, CAPM, Agile, Lean, or related certification.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nCurious and quick to learn.\nComfortable working in a technical and regulated environment.\nProactive and able to operate with limited direction.\nReceptive to coaching and willing to apply feedback.\nAble to build credibility and alignment across functions.\nFocused on driving results, not simply tracking activities.\nWorking Conditions\nOffice-based role located in Madison, Wisconsin, with regular interaction with both on-site and offshore teams.\nWork is primarily performed indoors using computers and standard collaboration tools.\nRegular collaboration with offshore teams is part of the role and may require flexibility in working hours.\nOccasional domestic or international travel may be required.\nTo qualify for this position, candidates must be able to furnish proof that they are authorized to work in the country they are applying on a permanent basis without sponsorship.\nEEO Statement\nAt Accuray, our commitment to patient-first outcomes drives an inclusive and collaborative work environment where the best ideas rise to the top - and everyone works to push them further.
