The role provides technical and people leadership to platform engineering teams, establishes engineering standards and best practices, and works closely with Product, Software Engineering, Architecture, Cyber Security and external partners to deliver secure, scalable and cost-effective platform solutions. The position also contributes hands-on technical expertise to architecture, automation, complex problem-solving and critical technology initiatives.\nJob responsibilities\nLead and develop the Platform Engineering team, building capability, performance and a culture of continuous improvement.\nDefine and deliver ACER's platform engineering strategy, roadmap and operating model aligned with organisational priorities.\nOversee the design, delivery and ongoing optimisation of secure, scalable, reliable and cost-effective cloud platforms and engineering services.\nEstablish platform engineering standards, automation practices, CI/CD capabilities and developer enablement services that support efficient product delivery.\nPartner with Product, Software Engineering, Architecture and Cyber Security teams to support platform delivery, security and operational resilience.\nProvide technical leadership for platform architecture, reliability, performance and complex technology initiatives.\nManage platform investments, suppliers, budgets and performance metrics to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.\nContribute to governance, risk and investment forums, providing advice on platform strategy, priorities, risks and capacity.\nDecision Making Authority\nThe Platform Engineering Manager works with a high degree of independence within approved strategy, architecture, policy, budget and risk settings.
