ACL Digital is seeking a UI/Accessibility Expert - Front-End Tech Lead to lead front-end architecture, development, and engineering practices. The role focuses on accessibility strategy and compliance, design-system implementation, CI/CD improvements, and collaboration with Java backend teams.\n\nResponsibilities\nServe as technical lead for the front-end codebase (Angular, SASS, HTML), setting architecture, direction, and coding standards\nDevelop, review, and maintain high‑quality front-end code for Staff MIUI screens\nImplement and enforce the U.S. Web Design System and State Design System across the project\nOwn accessibility strategy and ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, Title I, and Title II requirements\nPerform accessibility validation using automated testing tools, screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), and manual keyboard/tabbing navigation\nLead code reviews, design reviews, and mentor front-end developers\nImprove and maintain front-end CI/CD processes and pipelines\nIdentify architectural gaps and define the front-end technical roadmap\nCollaborate with Java backend teams to integrate APIs and services (no Java development required)\nProduce technical documentation, decision records, and process documentation\nApply secure development practices aligned with government security and sensitive data handling requirements\n\nSkills\nProven experience as a Front-End Tech Lead or senior-level front-end engineer\nExpert knowledge of Angular, SASS, HTML\nExperience implementing a design system\nFormal accessibility certification (CPACC, WAS, or equivalent)\nHands-on accessibility testing experience using automated tools, screen readers, and manual navigation\nStrong understanding of CI/CD and front-end deployment workflows\nAbility to work effectively with Java backend teams\nDemonstrated leadership skills, mentoring ability, and experience driving engineering best practices\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation\nUnderstanding of government security and sensitive data handling requirements\nUSWDS experience strongly preferred\nExperience with Section 508 and Title I/Title II accessibility compliance\nPrior work in government or public-sector environments\nExperience defining engineering standards and leading process improvements\nFamiliarity with enterprise-scale front-end architectures and component libraries\nExperience writing technical documentation, runbooks, or engineering process guides\n\nCompany Overview\nACL Digital is a design-led digital engineering and transformation firm.
