This position supports production goals by producing quality parts in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety, productivity, and workmanship. Based on responsibilities from both machinist and laser operation functions.\nThe ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, troubleshooting ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. This role requires the ability to work independently, maintain equipment performance, and support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nCNC Machine Setup & Operation\nSet up and operate CNC manufacturing equipment, including laser cutting machines and other CNC-controlled fabrication equipment.\nReview work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, nesting programs, and specifications prior to production.\nVerify material type, dimensions, thickness, and machine settings before beginning production runs.\nPerform machine startup, shutdown, and operational checks.\nMonitor machine performance to ensure production efficiency, quality, and equipment reliability.\nOptimize machine utilization while minimizing scrap and downtime. \nMaterial Handling & Production Support\nLoad, unload, position, and transport materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, carts, hand trucks, and approved lifting devices.\nVerify material identification and maintain traceability throughout the manufacturing process.\nRemove finished parts, remnants, scrap, and waste materials from production areas.\nAssist with movement of completed products and work-in-process materials throughout the facility.\nSupport production teams with fabrication, forming, grinding, deburring, sanding, and finishing operations as required. \nQuality Assurance\nInspect completed parts for dimensional accuracy, cut quality, surface finish, and compliance with engineering specifications.\nUtilize measuring tools, gauges, and inspection equipment to verify product quality.\nIdentify and report non-conforming materials, components, or production issues.\nEnsure all products meet customer, engineering, and company quality requirements.\nSupport corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts related to quality performance. \nTroubleshooting & Equipment Maintenance\nTroubleshoot routine CNC machine issues, alarms, tooling concerns, and operational disruptions.\nPerform operator-level machine adjustments to maintain production efficiency.\nConduct daily inspections and basic preventive maintenance activities.\nInspect and replace approved tooling and consumable components when necessary.\nReport equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, and abnormal operating conditions promptly.\nMaintain equipment cleanliness and readiness for production. \nSafety & Housekeeping\nFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.\nOperate cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment safely.\nMaintain awareness of manufacturing hazards including moving machinery, suspended loads, sharp materials, sparks, and heavy components.\nKeep work areas clean, organized, and free of excess scrap and debris.\nImmediately report safety concerns, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions. Documentation & Communication\nComplete production records, inspection reports, maintenance logs, and material tracking documentation accurately.\nTrack production quantities, downtime, scrap, and machine performance metrics.\nCommunicate equipment concerns, quality issues, and production status to supervisors and support personnel.\nProvide effective shift handoff communication to ensure continuity of operations.\nAccount for work completed and support departmental reporting requirements. What We're Looking For\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nMinimum 1-3 years of manufacturing, fabrication, machining, CNC operation, or industrial equipment experience preferred.\nExperience operating CNC machines, laser cutting equipment, machining centers, or similar manufacturing equipment strongly preferred.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and production documentation.\nWorking knowledge of measuring instruments and basic mathematical calculations.\nExperience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred or ability to obtain certification.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to use hand tools, power tools, and basic fabrication equipment safely and effectively.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.\nAbility to work independently while maintaining productivity and accountability.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to adapt to changing production priorities and support multiple manufacturing operations.\nCommitment to safety, quality, reliability, and continuous improvement. \nPhysical & Work Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the work shift.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with mechanical assistance when necessary.\nAbility to safely handle steel materials and fabricated components with sharp edges.\nAbility to work around large industrial machinery, cranes, forklifts, and moving equipment.\nAbility to wear required PPE at all times.\nAbility to visually inspect products and safely perform manufacturing duties.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, heat, dust, sparks, fumes, and heavy
