This role supports projects serving data centers, infrastructure, universities, and other mission-critical facilities.\nThe ideal candidate will have hands-on purchasing experience with steel, aluminum, insulation, electrical, fuel system, any related materials for manufacturing or facilities, and will coordinate material deliveries in alignment with production schedules and project timelines. This position requires collaboration with production, engineering, and project management to ensure materials are available when needed without excess inventory.\nThe Purchasing Agent will also be responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date purchasing records, inventory records for materials stored both in-house and at supplier-managed locations, supporting effective planning, forecasting, and cost control. The successful candidate is responsible, punctual, self-directed, detail-oriented, organized, and capable of making sound purchasing decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.\nKey Roles & Responsibilities:\n· Source, negotiate, and purchase materials, components, and services to support production and project schedules.\n· Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and quality performance.\n· Coordinate with engineering, production, project management, and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely purchasing.\n· Review drawings, BOMs, and specifications to ensure correct materials are procured.\n· Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs to avoid shortages or excess stock.\n· Evaluate vendors and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.\n· Resolve purchasing issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing discrepancies.\n· Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and reports. Provide cost analysis as requested by Manager\nWhat We're Looking For\n· 5+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment\n· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities\n· Experience with QuickBooks systems\n· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Inventory Systems\n· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills\n· Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and external partners\n· High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail\n· Experience in industrial manufacturing\n· Experience in the metals or fabrication industry is a strong plus\n· College degree, technical degree, or professional certification in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred but not required\n· Familiarity with manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and production workflows\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs):\n1. Workflow: PO cycle time, 24-48 hours for standard items.\n2. PO Accuracy: Correct quantity, pricing, description, date. Revision level.\n3. Procurement Workload Efficiency: Maintain a daily output of at least five purchase orders, ensuring timely processing in line with incoming order request volumes and priorities.\n4. Supplier Defects: Track damaged items delivered or defective.\n5.
