This role serves as a key frontline leader responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with ASC's quality standards.\nThe Assistant Supervisor partners closely with production leadership, employees, and support departments to drive productivity, maintain accountability, support employee development, and promote a positive team culture. Success in this role will be measured through safety performance, team productivity, schedule attainment, quality results, and employee engagement.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist in managing day-to-day departmental operations, workforce planning, schedules, and production priorities\nCoordinate team assignments and resources to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule\nDevelop and maintain material requirements and material lists for assigned projects\nAssist with project cost estimates, labor planning, and cost tracking activities\nMonitor productivity, workflow, and department performance to ensure operational goals are achieved\nEnsure work is completed in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards\nMaintain accurate project documentation, production records, and job tracking from project start through completion\nPartner with Plant Leadership and Human Resources to address employee concerns, workplace issues, and performance matters\nSupport attendance management processes, including review and approval of vacation, sick leave, and unpaid leave requests\nParticipate in the performance management process, including employee evaluations and development planning\nProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to employees to improve performance, engagement, and skill development\nLead by example by demonstrating ASC's values, safety expectations, and commitment to operational excellence\nAssist with employee onboarding, training, and cross-training activities\nHelp drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency\nSupport problem-solving efforts and help resolve production, staffing, and operational challenges\nCommunicate departmental goals, expectations, and updates effectively to team members and leadership\nPromote a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and continuous learning\nWhat We're Looking For\nKnowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and departmental operations within assigned area of responsibility\nPrevious supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership capabilities in a manufacturing environment preferred\nStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills\nAbility to motivate, coach, and develop employees while maintaining accountability\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills\nFlexible and responsive with a strong teamwork orientation\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment\nStrong commitment to quality, safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence\nWorking knowledge of basic hand tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes\nAbility to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage competing demands\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment\nStrong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions\nBasic mathematical skills and proficiency using measurement tools\nExperience utilizing Microsoft Office applications and production reporting systems preferred\nDemonstrated commitment to safety-conscious behaviors and leadership practices\nRequired Education & Training\nHigh School Diploma or GED required\nAssociate degree in a technical, manufacturing, business, or related field preferred\nPrior leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred\nRelevant manufacturing, production, or industrial experience preferred\nLeadership development, safety, or supervisory training certifications are a plus\nEquivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered\nPhysical & Work Requirements\nAbility to regularly walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing teams\nAbility to stand, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas during daily operations and production activities\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to support multiple shifts and work flexible hours as needed to meet operational requirements\nAbility to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying temperatures\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements\nCome helps us build safer, smarter, and more efficient ways to power the world's most demanding data centers.\nAbout ASC\n Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) provides on-site power integration for large-scale data centers.
