This position reports to the Director of CBET.\nInterested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter.\nMajor Duties & Responsibilities:\nLead upstream laboratory development activities in coordination with CBET team\nParticipate effectively in teaching and training programs designed for industry professionals\nWork directly with industry partners to execute projects under confidentiality and in accordance with good laboratory practices (GLP)\nGenerate project data and assist in analyzing laboratory results while maintaining data integrity standards\nAuthor and review technical documents, technical reports, Batch records, and SOPs\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nExpertise in cell culture (e.g., CHO, mammalian) and fermentation (E. coli, yeast)\nProven expertise bioreactor processes scale-up and scale-down (single-use and stainless steel)\nStrong knowledge of aseptic techniques and GMP compliance\nSkills in process parameter control (pH, DO, temperature, agitation)\nData analysis, experimental design, and troubleshooting abilities\nExperience in bioanalytics and downstream processing is a plus.\nExperience in downstream purification, chromatography, and TFF are desirable.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills with a respect for confidential material\nStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.\nWork independently and with other members of the team to execute required tasks\nExcellent time management and task prioritization skills\nComfort managing multiple projects at the same time - i.e., multitasking\nAbility to interact collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals both from academia and industry\nDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines on accelerated timelines in a fast-paced work environment\nEducation and Experience:\nPh.D. in life sciences, biochemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related discipline\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in an academic or industry environment\nExperience in downstream processing related to the biopharmaceutical industry, preferred\nExperience in a GMP/GLP environment, preferred\nPhysical Demands:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The duties and responsibilities of this particular role require the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or interaction with our community, requiring all work to be performed full-time on-site. Standard work hours are from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday.
