As an Intermediate Accountant, you will run the month-end close for assigned subsidiaries with minimal supervision, prepare management reporting and variance commentary, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and support compliance obligations across the Group.\nThis is a generalist role that goes well beyond transactional accounting. You will work with a high degree of independence, with the Senior Accountant providing oversight on judgement areas and escalated matters. The role offers direct exposure to a complex, multi-entity group structure, with scope to contribute to process improvement, system enhancements, and post-acquisition integration as the Group continues to grow.\nYour tasks for the day include, but are not limited to the following:\nFinancial control and budget preparation for head office and portfolio companies\nRun the end-to-end month-end close for assigned subsidiaries with minimal supervision, including journals, trial balance review, reconciliations, and management reporting with variance commentary\nPrepare budget and forecast models for assigned subsidiaries as part of the annual budget and periodic forecast process led by the Senior Accountant\nPrepare complex and judgement-based workpapers, escalating material issues and unusual transactions to the Senior Accountant with a proposed treatment\nPrepare month-end journals and manage payment processes where required\nPrepare month-end reconciliations including fixed assets, deferred revenue, leases, and employee liabilities\nPrepare Head Office reporting pack inputs and templates for assigned subsidiaries\nAssist with the collation and consolidation of accounts and budgets\nReporting and compliance obligations\nPrepare VAT/GST, FBT and payroll lodgements\nAssist with the completion of full-year Statutory Financial Statements for audit\nAssist with the preparation of tax reporting schedules for tax filing\nProjects and ad hoc activities\nAssist in rolling out of any head office finance initiatives e.g. standardisation of reporting templates, implementation of new accounting standards\nSupport system implementations and post-acquisition financial integration for new portfolio companies including chart of account mapping, opening balances, and first-month close\nIdentify and support process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements across assigned subsidiaries, escalate and report system related issues and errors\nLiaise with other members of the finance team and assist with ad hoc duties\nIn a nutshell, you have won the day when your subsidiaries are closed accurately and on time, your work needs minimal review, and the team knows it can rely on your numbers!\nAs an Intermediate Accountant, you can perform well if you have:\nBachelor's degree or higher (Business or equivalent, with an accounting major)\nCPA/CA Professional accreditation required\n3-5 years of accounting/bookkeeping/audit experience, including running month-end close\nSound working knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/AASB) and their practical application (Revenue from Contracts with Customers;
