We serve communities with passion and integrity, bringing together team members from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to develop practical, innovative solutions with our clients and stakeholders.\nWith a global mindset and project experience in more than 150 countries, we are proud to advance our shared mission of building bridges and connecting people while creating a legacy of partnership and purpose.\nPosition Summary\nUnder general direction, the Project Engineer prepares customer approval calculations, develops project-specific written instructions, and establishes drafting procedures for steel bridge structures and related components.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPrepare complete and accurate engineering calculations for steel bridge structures and components.\nApply construction and engineering principles, mathematics, material properties, and other physical sciences to develop calculation packages in U.S. customary units, metric units, or a combination of both.\nPrepare bills of material based on completed drawings.\nReview engineering work products for completeness, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable requirements.\nDevelop project-specific written instructions and drafting procedures.\nComply with Acrow policies, safety requirements, and applicable laws and regulations.\nTravel to other Acrow locations or customer sites as business needs require.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nRequired Skills and Knowledge\nStrong work ethic and the ability to adapt to a quickly changing business environment.\nAbility to write, analyze, and interpret technical information, including drawings, calculations, and specifications.\nExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.\nProficiency with AutoCAD or Mechanical CAD, version 2018 or later.\nKnowledge of applicable AASHTO and AISC codes and standards.\nPractical knowledge of engineering formulas and their application to the design of structural steel members and connections.\nUnderstanding of standard drafting terminology, abbreviations, symbols, dimensioning techniques, and procedures.\nAbility to design steel components in accordance with applicable codes and standards.\nAbility to work effectively and respectfully with individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives.\nProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering and four to six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nDesign experience involving structural systems for bridges, steel buildings, or industrial construction.\nExperience with Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor.\nEngineer-in-Training certification or professional engineering licensure in one or more states.\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements\nWork is typically performed in an office environment and requires adherence to applicable safety precautions. The position may involve occasional handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment and travel to Acrow locations or customer sites.
