The position includes design and development of sustainable stormwater management strategies, water resource solutions and distribution and collection systems for private and municipal clients. This position will operate under the ES Engineering P.C. organization in compliance with State of North Carolina requirements.\nThe ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams, strong accountability to headquarters, and the ability to engage with clients and business development staff to strengthen regional relationships.\nThis role offers excellent professional growth potential, exposure to diverse civil and environmental projects, and opportunities to participate in expanding the company’s presence in the region.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nLeadership and Team Management\nLead and manage compliance with engineering projects and staff.\nWorkload analysis to manage the design and engineering staff schedule and ensure project deadlines are met.\nAllocate tasks and resources based on project requirements and team capabilities.\nMonitor and adjust schedules as needed to address project changes or delays.\nQuality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) and Compliance\nOversee QA/QC processes for design plans, permitting, and hydrology & hydraulics (H&H) modeling and deliverables.\nEnsure all designs meet regulatory standards and project specifications.\nConduct regular reviews and audits to maintain high-quality standards.\nEngineering Design Development and Budget Management\nLead the development of engineering technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and other project related documents, plans, and compliance reports.\nPerform and oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM.\nProduce material quantities, cost estimates, specifications, and other documents necessary for construction implementation.\nManage project budgets, ensuring that staff hours stay within financial constraints.\nDesign, and construction support for municipal and private development projects such as green infrastructure, sediment and erosion control, utility services, stormwater management, wastewater systems and grading design\nClient and Business Development Support\nMaintain positive client relationships through clear communication and reliable project delivery.\nCollaborate with business development staff to identify and pursue regional opportunities.\nRequirements\nMinimum Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree in civil or environmental engineering, is required.\nLicensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of North Carolina is required.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering with at least 4 years in a management role.\nIn depth knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental compliance regulations such as USEPA, NC DEQ, AWWA, ACOE, and NCDOT.\nAbility to manage and proven experience with projects using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or SWMM is required.\nExpertise with interpretation of and client support with NPDES permits including MSGP, MS4, individual discharge, water quality standards, spill prevention, and other Clean Water Act regulations.\nStrong management skills include participation in management meetings, strategic planning, and establishing revenue goals and departmental/office budgets.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience:\nAbility to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions and the ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.\nExperience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil engineering-related projects including stormwater and hydraulic design.\nDesign experience with grading/site design, green infrastructure, stormwater management, and hydraulic modeling.\nAbility to work independently, self-critique work, and multi-task regularly in a fast-paced environment with multiple changes, accepting responsibility for critical work products and meeting tight deadlines.\nProven track record of successful interactions with regulatory agencies.\nDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills.\nWork Environment\nThe work environment will be a mix of in-office and remote work. Standard office equipment will be provided to work in the office. In office space will be provided for you in the company’s Stow, Ohio office.
