About the Role
The Water Meter Installerreports to the Smart Meter Deployment Operations Managerat Bermex. This position playsa key role in water meter maintenance and measurement. This position also requires a high degree of walking in outdoor environmental conditions, excellent time management, and exceptional flexibility day to day.
*** Employees in this position are eligible for a productivity incentive in addition to their base pay that provides employees with a payment for each meter installed over a threshold.***
What You’llDo
Water Meter Maintenance:
Perform visual inspections of water service for leaks
Identifyhazards at meter sites and report accordingly
Properly change out water meters of varying sizes and brands
Properly change out water meter registers for AMI/AMR upgrade
Water Meter Reading:
Readwater meters
Enter data collected in the field into a handheld computer
Assiston additionalprojects,as necessary
Customer Communication:
Refer all consumer complaints to the appropriate authorities
Providegeneral information about the meter services to customers, when applicable
Use telephones, tablets, and/or computers to communicate
Other duties as assigned.
About You
Must haves:
Education: None. Must be 18 years of age or olderr
Experience: No experience necessary, employees will be trained.Valid driver'slicense is required
Nice to haves:
Education:High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 1or more years of experience in the direct exchange of water meters and registers of varying sizes
Your Skills:
Ability to multi-task,and work independently andas a team
Exceptional flexibility in daily routines and route scheduling. Must be flexible in times of need, including extended nights and weekends.
Adequate time management skills to finish daily meter reads in a timely manner, figuring out an efficient way to read meters for that day
Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with managementand customers
Ability to interact with unhappy or negative customers in a professional manner
Excellent attention to detail for problem solving and finding
Ability to walk long distances and prepare for weather conditions, accordingly
Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Place a high value on safety, quality of work, and operational procedures
Basic knowledge of GIS systems and principlesis required

Where We Work
Employees will begin their day at the local office where they will pick up their company vehicle, equipment, and assignments for the day.
