The instructor will be responsible for effective teaching in the face-to-face, blended, and online classroom. Potential candidates will have the ability to teach online as well as face-to-face and blended/hybrid courses during the evening, at multiple locations (Downtown Centers, Dual Enrollment Partners), and nontraditional times as needed. participate in discipline, division and college meetings.\nPossess minimum technology skills and understanding of a course management system.\nPOSITIONRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDemonstrate teaching effectiveness which supports student learning and encompasses pedagogies for student success to meet course or program requirements.\nPossess the ability to work in a variety of settings which promote quality learning.\nMaintain professional development to assure currency within field of practice.\nPossess effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.\nTeach a broad range of Automotive and GM/ASEPcourses.\nPrepares, teaches and evaluates assigned instructional courses (classroom and lab).\nUpdates course syllabi to reflect changes.\nAdvise students as it relates to school policies, satisfactory performance, etc.\nProvide curriculum insight and guidance regarding continuous improvement initiatives for the program.\nServe as liaison regarding program content and delivery between the program faculty and the Program Chair, Associate/Academic Dean and/or Campus President.\nParticipate in program advisory committee meeting as required.\nDevelops supplemental teaching materials to augment courses.\nCreate, maintain and update course information as well as grades.\nImplements new teaching strategies as appropriate.\nEvaluates textbooks for relevancy, quality and currency, making recommendations as necessary as per established policy.\nMaintains accurate records of students’ attendance and performance.\nAdheres to assigned teaching load/hours.\nIntegrates new technology in instructional delivery methods.\nAdheres to/enforces policies and procedures related to academic area.\nMaintains a hazard free environment and practices safety in lab(s) or classroom.\nKeeps students advised of their progress in class and when needed, refer students when needed for assistance.\nAdheres to college’s policies and procedures.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\nAssociate’s Degree in automotive service.\n4000 hours of on the job automotive technician work experience (required for Bachelor or Associate degrees).\nASEA1, A6, A8 Certification.\nASEG-1 certification within 90 days of employment.\nASEMaster Certification within 12 months of hire\nASEL-1 certification within 12 months of employment.\nObtain Bachelors degree within 5 years of employment\nObtain GM STS100% in areas taught within 90 days of hire.\nDemonstrated ongoing professional growth.\nFlexibility with teaching times of classes (days and/or evenings)\nADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES CONSIDERED:\nBachelor Degree in Related Field.\nASEMedium-Heavy Truck Certification (applicable to Delta’s Heavy Duty Diesel Program).\nASEA-9 certification.\nASEL-3 certification.\nEPAsection 609 certification.\nGM STS100% in all eight areas.\nGM MTCworld class certification in all eight areas.\nAbility to teach in a variety of formats, including online and/or using technology as a learning tool in an environment with diverse student populations.\nCollege teaching experience.\nExperience with teaching courses for dual enrollment initiatives.\nExperience and
