Based at our facility in Wokingham, the Project Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural monitoring projects from concept through to installation and commissioning. Act as the technical link between the client, engineering, and delivery teams. You take ownership of technical scope, coordinate across functions, and ensure systems are built, tested, and installed to the required standard. This role suits someone hands-on, well organised, and comfortable managing multiple live projects at different stages. You stay close to the detail while keeping delivery on track.\nDuties & Main Responsibilities\nProject Delivery\nSupport delivery of multiple projects at the same time, across design, build, test, and installation phases\nWork with Project Managers to meet schedule, budget, and technical requirements\nTrack engineering deliverables, risks, and changes through the project lifecycle\nTake full ownership of smaller projects where required\nTechnical Coordination\nAct as the main technical interface between client, engineering teams, procurement, and production\nTranslate client requirements into clear engineering scope and deliverables\nEnsure alignment between mechanical, electrical, systems, and software disciplines\nResolve technical queries quickly to maintain project progress\nClient Interface\nLead technical discussions with clients during design, delivery, and installation phases\nRespond to client queries and provide clear technical explanations\nAttend client meetings and site visits as required\nBuild strong working relationships to support successful delivery\nEngineering & Integration\nWork closely with engineering teams to ensure solutions meet client and project requirements\nSupport system integration across hardware and software components\nProvide hands-on support and troubleshooting during build and test phases\nProcurement & Production Interface\nWork with procurement to define technical specifications and manage supplier inputs\nSupport production during system assembly and build\nEnsure materials and components meet project requirements and timelines\nTesting & FAT\nPlan and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT / SFAT)\nTake an active, hands-on role during testing and fault finding\nEnsure all actions are closed prior to deployment\nInstallation & Commissioning\nAttend site or offshore locations to support installation and commissioning\nOversee installation activities to ensure systems are set up correctly\nWork with offshore teams, subcontractors, and clients on site\nSupport system commissioning and initial performance validation\nDocumentation & Control\nWork closely with document control to ensure all project documents are issued, tracked, and submitted on time\nMaintain accurate and up to date project documentation in line with company processes\nEnsure document revisions, approvals, and client submissions are managed correctly\nSupport project close-out documentation and deliverables\nRequirements\nRequired\nEssential\nDegree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or similar\nExperience in a project or engineering delivery environment\nStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems\nAbility to read drawings, schematics, and technical specifications\nExperience with system testing and integration activities\nFamiliar with project tracking tools and structured delivery processes\nHands-on and practical, comfortable working with equipment and systems\nHighly organised, able to manage multiple priorities at once\nStrong problem solver who stays calm under pressure\nClear communicator with both clients and internal teams\nTakes ownership and drives work through to completion\nWorks well across disciplines and levels within the business\nDesirable\nExperience in offshore energy, oil and gas, or renewables\nKnowledge of communications protocols, sensors, and data systems\nHands-on experience with diagnostic tools and system
