Title: Digital Engagement Intern\n\nLocation: Abuja (FCT)\n\nJob type: Contract\n\nDuration: 1 year\n\nSummary\n\nIt is therefore both a learning and value-adding relationship between interns and AAN.\nThe Intern position is an opportunity offered by ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) for young graduates to earn a post-NYSC experience.\nThe intern is expected to take advantage of the space offered for experience gathering and self-development while providing quality service to ActionAid Nigeria\n\nJob Purpose\n\nThe role will leverage digital platforms to amplify the organisation’s impact, highlight leadership contributions to social justice, policy influence, advocacy, and humanitarian efforts, and foster meaningful engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders. \nThe overall purpose of this position is to strategically manage and strengthen the social media presence of key leadership within the organisation.\nA high level of discretion and a strong commitment to confidentiality are essential, especially when handling sensitive issues.\n\nSpecific Duties & Responsibilities:\n\nContent Creation:\n\nDevelop engaging and relevant content for all social media platforms of the ActionAid Nigeria’s leadership ensuring that curated content aligns with ActionAid's mission and values.\nCurate and share innovative multimedia content and designs (graphics, videos, infographics, photos) that showcase the professional achievements, thought leadership, and positive impact of the ActionAid’s engagements and activities. \n\nBrand Representation:\n\nEffectively manage and represent a high-level professional profile on social media platforms, ensuring all content aligns with ActionAid’s mission and values.\nAlign the social media presence with emerging topics, trends, and conversations relevant to social justice, development, and advocacy.\nEncourage and facilitate the sharing of insightful articles, blogs, and opinion pieces authored by the individual, positioning them as a credible voice in social justice, advocacy, and humanitarian discourse.\n\nSocial media management:\n\nRegularly update and maintain the social media accounts under the guidance and approval of the communications Coordinator.\nMonitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions on the social media platforms.\n\nKey Working Relationships:\n\nInternal Relationships: Entire AAN team\nExternal Relationships: Project Partners, Service Providers, and Consultants\n\nPersons Specification\n\nEducation/Qualifications:\n\nFirst degree in Mass Communication or any relevant field is essential\n\nExperience:\n\nRelevant NYSC experience in the related fields.\nKnowledge of Content production; video, graphics design.\nProficiency in mobile photography and videography.\nProficient in using major social media platforms such as X, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.\n\nSkills/Abilities:\n\nReliable and responsible with a strong sense of accountability.\nComfortable using social media management tools, mobile graphic design software and mobile editing tools for content creation.\nEnthusiasm for the organization's mission and values.\nOutstanding interpersonal and communication skills.\nBasic understanding of analytics tools to track social media performance.\nThe ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity is highly essential.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nFlexibility with work hours\nA keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and professionalism in social media posts.\nAble to manage time effectively to meet posting
