The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator who can collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and actionable reporting solutions.\nLocation: Hybrid - 2 times a week in Suitland, MD\nSalary: 150K-189,000\nResponsibilities\nDevelop, maintain, and enhance Python scripts and applications supporting enterprise dashboards and reporting solutions.\n\nWrite, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, validate, and transform data from multiple sources.\n\nApply modular programming practices to create reusable, maintainable, and efficient Python code.\n\nIntegrate Python-based data processing and dashboard functionality with an open-source data visualization platform.\n\nDevelop interactive, engaging, and well-structured visualizations that communicate cost, project progress, performance metrics, and data quality to diverse end users.\n\nImplement and maintain row-level security and data access permissions based on geographic locations, organizational teams, and user roles.\n\nValidate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency to ensure the reliability of dashboards and reports.\n\nDebug Python scripts, resolve SQL query issues, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and improve application performance.\n\nCollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify reporting needs, and translate business objectives into functional dashboard capabilities.\n\nMaintain technical documentation for code, queries, data processing logic, dashboard functionality, and access controls.\n\nFollow established coding standards, version control practices, testing procedures, and data security requirements.\n\nCommunicate technical issues, development progress, and data-related findings clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.\n\nManage multiple development tasks and priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and delivery timelines.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nAdvanced Python programming skills, including modular design, data manipulation, debugging, and code maintenance.\n\nAdvanced SQL proficiency is required, including complex queries, joins, aggregations, data validation, and query optimization.\n\nHands-on experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualizations using Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or comparable BI tools.\n\nExperience implementing row-level security, role-based access controls, or similar data access restrictions.\n\nExperience integrating data processing scripts with reporting or visualization platforms.\n\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve coding, query, and data quality issues.\n\nExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders and explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with open-source visualization platforms such as Apache Superset, Metabase, or Plotly Dash.\n\nExperience with R or SAS for data manipulation, statistical analysis, or reporting.\n\nFamiliarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL.\n\nExperience using Git or other version control systems.\n\nKnowledge of API integration, automated testing, and software development best practices.\n\nFamiliarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, data quality controls, and enterprise reporting environments.\n\nPreferred Certifications\nPython Institute Certified Associate Python Programmer (PCAP).\n\nPython Institute Certified Professional Python Programmer (PCPP1).\n\nMicrosoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).\n\nTableau Certified Data Analyst.\n\nDatabricks Certified Data Analyst Associate, where relevant to the organization's data environment.\n\nCertifications are preferred, not required.
