Our success is fueled by a team of nearly 900 dedicated team members who genuinely love what they do and are dedicated to helping homeowners thrive and love where they live.\nJob Summary\nThe Building Engineer I, under the direction and supervision of the Chief Engineer, maintains and repairs all common property not maintained and repaired by a third party. The Engineer will also, at the direction of the Supervisor, perform limited in unit maintenance services. The Engineer is a trained responder to property emergencies such as fire, flood, earthquake and other disasters and will be available for emergencies after normal working hours.\nWork Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, 8-5; Saturday 9-6\nCompensation: 25-27/hour\nEssentail Duties and Responsibilities\nMaintain and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire/life safety, and sanitary sewer systems.\nPerform preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in manuals and directed by leadership.\nInspect, test, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues.\nComplete general maintenance work including carpentry, painting, masonry, and light furniture repairs.\nConduct routine and follow-up property inspections, including annual punch list items.\nPerform in-unit tasks such as HVAC filter changes, smoke alarm battery replacement, and minor repairs.\nMaintain accurate logs, inspection reports, work orders, tool inventory, and preventive maintenance records.\nRespond to property emergencies (flood, fire, power outage, earthquake) and maintain required safety certifications.\nCoordinate vendor access and assist housekeeping and team members as needed.\nDeliver excellent customer service, demonstrate professionalism, and support a safe, productive team environment, including occasional overtime.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nEPA 608 Certification is a plus.\nWeekly Fire Pump Testing Certification is a plus.\nAt least 2 years of maintenance experience in residential or commercial buildings. High rise experience is strongly desired. Must have knowledge of basic hand tools, personal protective equipment, and OSHA standards.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.\nKnowledge of building codes and safety regulations.\nExcellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nGeneral computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
