The engagement is 12-months\nLocation: Punggol Digital District\nThe Designer plays a key supporting role within the Developer Productivity & Services (DPS) department. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Central Product Marketplace (CPM) initiative, ensuring continued delivery quality across upcoming milestones and plans to support the department's digital goals.\nWhat the officer will be doing?\nUsability Testing & User Research: Plan and conduct regular usability testing sessions and user research activities in collaboration with the development team, synthesising findings into actionable insights to inform design decisions.\nUI & Workflow Design: Craft and iterate on user interface designs and end-to-end workflows leveraging AI-assisted design tools, ensuring consistency with established design systems and accessibility standards.\nDesign Documentation & Handoff: Produce and maintain detailed design specifications, annotated wireframes, and prototypes to facilitate smooth handoff to developers and ensure alignment across stakeholders.\nStakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal project teams and product owners to gather requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback within agreed review cycles.\nDesign System Maintenance: Review and update shared design components, style guides, and pattern libraries on a regular basis to ensure consistency across all product touchpoints.\nVisual & Content Design: Support the creation of visual assets, presentation decks, and communication materials as needed to support team and departmental initiatives.\nRequirements\nWhat are we looking for?\nEducation: Degree/Diploma in Design, Information Technology, or Software Engineering\nExperience: Minimum [2] years of relevant work experience as a designer or equivalent position.\nEssential (Must-Have)\nPractical knowledge of UI/UX design principles, tools (e.g. Figma), and end-to-end design workflows.\nHands-on experience conducting usability testing and translating user research findings into design improvements.\nProficiency in crafting wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications for handoff to development teams.\nPreferred (Advantageous)\nFamiliarity with established design systems and the ability to contribute to and maintain shared component libraries consistently.\nExperience designing for complex platforms with multiple user roles, intricate workflows, or large-scale information architecture.\nProven track record of shipping live products, with involvement across the full product lifecycle from discovery through to launch.\nExperience utilising AI-assisted design tools to accelerate workflow and ideation.\nFamiliarity with public sector or government digital service standards and accessibility guidelines.\nSoft Skills & Communication Attributes\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an eye for detail in translating user needs into intuitive design solutions.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate design rationale, present concepts, and facilitate discussions with internal stakeholders and development teams.\nAbility to receive and incorporate feedback constructively, iterating on designs with a user-centred mindset.\nComfortable working both as an independent contributor managing your own design workstream, and as a collaborative team player within a cross-functional product team.\nBenefits\nWhat do we offer in return?\nCompetitive Compensation: Market competitive salary and variable performance bonus aligned to your skills, impact, and contribution.\nBenefits: Outpatient medical, specialist medical coverage and generous customisable flexi benefits, or flexi allowance; life and health insurance, thoughtful perks like special occasions “red packet” and CNY goodies, etc.\nEmployee Wellness: Support for your physical, mental, and overall well-being through year-round initiatives.\nGrowth & Development: Learning programmes, certification support, and a dedicated staff development budget.
