The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building scalable data solutions to enable advanced analytics and data management capabilities. This role will also involve driving the adoption of best practices in data engineering, promoting a data-centric culture, and providing mentorship within the development team.\nWhat does your typical day look like?\nDesign, develop, and maintain modern data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes using Snowflake and Azure Data Services.\nArchitect data solutions leveraging DBT for data transformation and Azure Data Factory for pipeline orchestration.\nCollaborate with business and data teams to translate data requirements into efficient data models, ensuring compliance with data governance and architecture standards.\nUtilize cloud-native data services, including Azure Storage, to optimize data management and scalability.\nImplement and automate data quality checks using tools like DBT tests.\nImplement and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.\nDevelop and maintain data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata management processes.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define data standards, naming conventions, and data classification.\nWhat skills and training do you need?\nBachelor's or graduate degree in computer engineering, mathematics, data science, or related disciplines.\n4-6 years of professional experience in a related field.\nExperience using the following software/tools:\nRelational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MS SQL Server, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MariaDB).\nCloud platforms (Azure preferred) and cloud-based data services.\nData modeling and transformation tools like DBT.\nETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or Informatica.\nKnowledge of APIs and data integration strategies.\nRelevant certifications in Azure Data Services or Snowflake are a plus.\nAdvanced proficiency in modern data technologies such as Snowflake, DBT, and Azure Data Factory.\nStrong experience with SQL and data pipeline automation.\nDeep understanding of data governance frameworks, data quality management, and security protocols.\nAbility to collaborate across teams, communicate complex technical solutions, and drive consensus on best practices.\nProven track record of designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures with a focus on scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.\nWhen you apply:\nIf you require assistance or accommodation during our recruitment process, please notify Human Resources so that we can review and consider how we may be able to assist you based on your individual needs.\nWe offer you\nGlobal Excel offers more than a position;\nWe offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary, performance bonus and an extensive benefits package;\nA professional future with opportunities for development, growth, and advancement; \nRRSP Match program;\nFinancial assistance to employees who wish to continue their education;\nWork/life balance, health and wellness initiatives including an excellent EAP program;\nEmployee engagement programs that focus on fitness, food, and fun;\nWindsor, Ontario Candidates: base hourly salary scale ($35.06/hour - $46.00/hour).
