Our engineering managers are people with varying technical backgrounds and interests who are heavily involved in the technical details of their team. As managers, our main focus is keeping our teams efficient, well-prioritized, and executing on the right goals. We build teams that are inclusive, collaborative, and have a strong sense of ownership for the things they build.\nWhat your day could consist of:\nLead a team of talented engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems\nDrive strict prioritization and delivery management - ensuring your team is focused on high-impact work and delivering predictably\nCreate a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, inclusivity, innovation, learning, respect and transparency while holding a high bar for craftsmanship\nShare knowledge with team members via mentoring, code reviews, design doc reviews, technical talks, and timely feedback\nMaintain rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices\nContribute to and execute on the organization's vision and standards around security, quality, observability, and clean code\nSupport legacy and modern services and applications in the public cloud and deploy them through CI/CD practices\nDemonstrate problem solving and technical innovation by staying hands-on - contributing to architecture decisions, reviewing code, and writing code when needed\nChampion AI-first engineering practices - driving adoption of AI tooling and agentic development workflows within your team\nCollaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, other Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure we're building great products\nPartner with other engineering teams to identify and evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity\nWork closely with the ActiveCampaign People Team to hire high-caliber candidates from diverse backgrounds\nMaintain flexible working hours with at least a few hours of daily overlap with Chicago timezone (US Central), including availability for afternoon meetings to facilitate cross-site collaboration\nWhat we're looking for:\n Required:\n3+ years of hands-on technical leadership and people management experience\nStrong software development background with experience building and deploying scalable applications in the cloud using CI/CD practices\nProduction experience in PHP;
